About the Folsom International Triathlon

The Folsom International Triathlon will fill Northern California's void for an Olympic Distance Triathlon. This event will sell out with over 1,200 entrants. This event will attract racers from all over the world. Participants will range from the world's top elite triathletes to hundreds of age group and beginner triathletes each year. After months of TV, Print and Radio publicity, 1,200 athletes line up to attack one of the fastest International/Olympic Distance Triathlons in the USA. It is all about racing alongside the world's top professionals and celebrating at the finish line. Warm sun, live music, gourmet food, lavish awards and laughter are only to be found at the Folsom International Triathlon. Triathletes from all over the world will agree that the Folsom International Triathlon embodies everything that is great about the sport of triathlon. Triathletes and their families can come and enjoy all that Folsom has to offer from lodging and dining to entertainment and shopping.

Northern California Tri Club Championships at Folsom International Triathlon
The Folsom International Triathlon on August 13th will be the meeting place to determine who is the fastest club in the Northern California/Nevada Area. Several local clubs have been battling for three seasons to accumulate points in the championship series of designated events. The series will culminate at the extremely popular Folsom International event, which drew a new-event all-time record of 1,200 participants in 2002. The Folsom International Course is flat and fast at the Olympic distances of 1.5k-40k-10k.

At stake in the series are bragging rights to being the "fastest club in the Bay," a custom apparel award offered by J&A Productions, known throughout the triathlon community for their lavish and innovative awards. J&A has also agreed to throw a beer and BBQ bash at the winning club's home turf for all club members. With club membership and team spirit at an all-time high, Folsom becomes THE race of the season for competitive age group club devotees throughout the Bay Area. As an item in the recent TRIbe club newsletter mentioned, "You simply MUST race at Folsom! It's for your club, your country and all of the marbles!"

There are two award categories: three male and three female team and overall club top score. For the overall club competition, all team members score 5 points for finishing and additional points are awarded for club members who place top-10 in their age groups.
