Folsom will be the site of a lecture on the Lincoln Highway and a re-creation of the Pony Express on Dec. 9-10.
On Dec. 9, the local chapter of the National Pony Express Riders will carry mail from Old Sacramento to the 1860 Pony Express remounts station at the Folsom History Museum, 823 Sutter St. The riders are due about 3:45 p.m. The museum will offer free admission and posters of the Pony Express Trail. On Dec. 10, author Gregory M. Franzwa will present a 45-minute slide show celebrating publication of "The Lincoln Highway: California," Vol. 6 of his state-by-state series on the historic roadway. A book signing will follow the free program, scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Ambassador Room of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, 200 Wool St.
