Along similar lines, what are you all doing about the inordinate amount of green waste (mainly in the form of LEAVES) this week? We have already filled our green waste can and regular garbage can to the brim and we still can't see our lawn for all the leaves there (thanks mainly to the vacant house next to us - all those leaves blew over to our lawn giving us double leaves). No green waste pickup this week, so after regular garbage pickup this Thursday we'll just stuff that can as full as we can again and keep doing that for the next few weeks I guess . . . ???

No different than last year when all we had was the black cans. Bag the extra and cycle them through over time or go to an apartment building and throw it in their dumpster. huh?

Or you can use a blower and blow them into the street so when a strong wind come up it goes into the neighbors yard. I usually wait until after dark to do that. If they bunch up in the street just drive your car over them a few times. It spreads them out and makes it look more like it was a natrual kind of thing.

Actually, the new "Smart Carts" as they are called have an integrated computer system that performs a molecular refuse analysis and optimizes the introduction of a chemical compound that speeds along the decomposition process within the receptacle. Also, an advanced hydrothermal polyepstein membrane collects excess dihydrogen monoxide within the container and converts it into electricity using a solar panel array and a cold fusion reactor. This "clean" energy is routed to a satellite in geosynchronous orbit, and then transferred back down to a ground station where it helps power homeless shelters and a needle exchange program. It's really quite an advanced system.

I think "it's" in the plastic lid. It can sense items that are put in the wrong container and the city keeps a running list of violaters. Also it stores a list of everything in the regular garbage can. They keep a list of that in City Hall as well, incase Home Land Security needs to review it.
They are very smart, I wouldn't take this to lightly. When the garbage man comes to pick up the gargabe the arm that picks up the can is accessing a special port on the smart cart and downloads the information. Some of the newer models have small cameras that take pictures of your garbage.

I had ant problems one time and I just sprayed ant/fly spray around the lower part of the trash can and they stayed away after that.
