Stopped by last nite and they were gone. Loved that place, quiet(their downfall I know), good food, fair prices.

Darn.

Hey Jeff,
Zinfandel Grille-Folsom closed last Sunday, 1/18. The Gold River location is still open and honoring any gift cards too.

Too bad. Not my favorite place, but I'm sad to see it go. Let's keep our fingers crossed that an even better place moves in.

dang... Zinfandel Grille was the very FIRST restaurant I went to in Folsom when I moved here. My wife's boss gave us a gift certificate for the place to celebrate our move up here... I'll always remember that restaurant

it's sad to see all these nice places in town closing....

Hey, me too. I think ZG was the first restaurant I went to in Folsom. I enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised (it's been very hit and miss since then). Each visit was generally enjoyable. But for some reason, they didn't come to mind much and I didn't visit them often. Perhaps it was location -- I don't really go to Old Folsom much. I just don't like dealing with the traffic and parking there. I don't have claustrophobia but I get that type of feeling down there. If ZG was at a location like where Masque was, I'd probably visit more often.

I really need to go try The Ravine and Cafe Campanile; restaurants I like (life beyond the hamburger) are getting pretty scarce in the area. In fact, nothing is really coming to mind right now. I mean, there's the likes of Manderes (Beer!) and Malabar (meh) and Bistro 33 (blech) but nothing I'd absolutely rave about. Oh wait, I do like BSB -- why do I keep forgetting that place -- I'll have to go this week to keep them top of mind.

Man, my memory for names sucks. So was your first visit to the ZG after it changed names to ZG, or was it back when it was the other name, which for the life of me I can't remember right now. It didn't change owners back then, just the name.

OK, googling I found it. So re-wording my question:
Was your first visit to the ZG after it changed names to ZG, or was it back when it was Paragary's?

I would rather be Backpacking

ZG

I probably went there as many times when it was P as I did after it became ZG, which is probably like 4 or 5 times each. When I'm near it, I usually was going to Thai Siam, or Yager's back when Yager's was good.
