So, Paula was out of it again. Think it's a neurological disease or was she high?

Anyway...
Yes, I get sucked in too every season. I did again last night... watching those fools looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
On a side note, Chris Daughtry... hot rocker from last season's Idol... will be at the Boardwalk on Feb 8th. Can't wait... his CD is fabulous!

Although I have to agree with Armstrong & Getty. Each season, these first few episodes are getting closer to the "Bum Fights" level. It is painful to watch the humiliation they put some of those obviously mentally ill people through. They interview these unstable, clearly untalented people and put them through to see the judges for the pure spectacle of it... and I thank them... in shame.

I can't believe how so many of them fight back and act as if they are God's given gift to singing. Now, granted, the judges can be incredibly rude, but come on people. That 16-year old boy juggler? "I just want to be famous." Mom, "Oh honey, you'll be famous."

Every year I comment on those parents who support their kids, even though they have no talent. It's one thing to be supportive of your child's dream, but it's another to encourage something that will obviously result in failure. I suppose these parents really think their kids are that good. Hmmm

I'm all for supporting people's dreams. However, there is this thing called reality that cannot be ignored. I don't know where all of yesterday's contestants got off acting like they did because somebody happened to disagree with them and not give them the "golden ticket." How about working hard to achieve your goals instead of expecting someone to hand it to you on a platter?

the show concept is not new. I remember a show a while back called the gong show and when it got real bad a judge hit a gong.
back a long time ago when tv was sort of new a big show was horace height amature hour and they had some real nice talent on there back when they called it family entertainment. one of my favorites was when they had accoridian players play a song called lady of spain which was real fast and lots of fun to watch the hands flying over the keys
the old soldier longs for simpler times when the fourth of july parade and memorial day were big events and homes with boys in the service had flags in the window. and then when it happened that a boy gave his live for his country the mother got a flag with a gold star and at community events the group of gold star mothers were honored.

Omg. What is the source for that? Because you're right! Trading a drunk for a drug addict? What the heck?
Are you sure it wasn't just that Courtney Love is going to be a guest judge on one of the episodes, as they often do?
(As to last night's episode... I've found my contestant I want to follow. The boy who wanted to make David Hasselhoff cry. He was HILARIOUS and I loved his voice.)
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

My one complaint this year is that there are a ton of words bleeped out. I'm not complaining about the bleeping -- I'm complaining that the people are using those words in the first place. Now my girls are immensely curious about the bad words-- they are speculating that Simon may have called someone "Dumb" (gasp!).
