Too bad if it's really closing now because business will probably pick up in a year when the new buildings open, the new bridge opens, the construction in the area is completed, and Sutter Street gets fixed up.
Maybe they will find a buyer and it won't actually close.

Wow, why blame the other merchants? other restaurants on the street are doing great! look at Chicago Fire, Hacienda, My Brother Vinny's, Zinfandel Grille, Hop Sings, Balcony Bistro. They have to have valet parking to accomodate the traffic. I don't think its fair to blame the shop owners. After all, most of them are family businesses that can't afford to hire extra employees to keep their doors open after 5 pm. They aren't corporations. If Pachangas is having hard times, there are probably other issues at play.

It's confirmed that they are selling. The listing states that the reason for selling is "too much debt."
I can't find the site where I first stumbled across the listing a couple weeks ago. It had specifics, like the reason and the actual business name. Here is a generic listing I found that resembles what I saw and is probably Pachangas. (Most business listings don't give too many details. I guess the broker doesn't want you contacting directly and cutting him out of some money?)

While looking for the above, I also found the following listing. Could it be for My Brother Vinny's?
"Located In The Center Of Old Historic Folsom... Successful Italian Restaurant For Sale"

As for Pachanga's, that is a major bummer. Even though I didn't go there often (rotten kids!

not Bailies - was just there again on Friday talking to Arturo - they're doing great as evidenced by the fact there was not a single open table available after 7pm

maybe balcony bistro? there's a few place I can think that description might work for
I kinda saw the writing on the wall at Pachanga's about their demise well over 6 months ago (you did too) - with all the good chefs and staff leaving because of bouncing pay checks and other uh personal issues going on - it was bound to happen
...and I used to love Pachanga's - they were in my top 3 favorites

The listing says it's currently just open for dinner, and opened in the 1990s. I have no idea when Balcony Bistro opened, but know it's open for more than dinner. However, with it's location, I would assume that they would be asking a lot more for the business.
What independent restaurants have been open since the 1990s?
