Why, oh WHY can't any of these coffee places stay open later on Friday and Saturday nights? Is there any coffee house out there who does that I haven't seen?

I was just shopping at Target 30 minutes ago and picked up some Frappacinos (sp?) so I guess not.

The Borders book store is open 'til 10 on M-Th and 11 on F-Sat. I think their coffee shop has the same hours.

It is a running joke with my husband and our friends... Folsom closes at 9:00

We have to go "out" of Folsom for late night fun... tongue.gif

You shouldn't drink caffeine after 2pm in order to get a good night sleep. Why in the heck would you want coffee at 10pm? Are you a night watchman?

I've posted the same thing before. I think someone posts this about every 6 months.

Being the owner of a restaurant in Folsom-Boy do I agree with you. We hardly ever see anyone after 8pm-even on Fri/Sat

There is not enough demand for coffee at night to support this.
You can have coffee at home.

And as my dad's wife would say...Starbucks is unnecessary. People should just drink Folgers.
She also feels that any jam/jelly other than strawberry and grape are unnecessary. Hmmm.

There is enough demand for coffee in the daytime. If coffee shops in Folsom could make money staying open late, they would stay open late.
A few people occasionally wanting coffee at night does not make a business model.

And yet, the Starbucks at Howe/Arden is open 24 hours. Even Lodi has a 24 Hour Starbucks.

Side note-Starbucks is NOT great coffee, just great marketing.

In El Dorado Hills at the La Borgata shopping center is an excellent coffee house (next to the Masque restaurant) that is usually open until midnight.
We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

Au contraire. I LOVE Starbucks coffee. But,...hey...I'm no expert. I know that there's been a LOT of times when I've wanted to go to Starbucks or elsewhere with friends to talk and they've been closed. With what you said above...maybe it's just culture...Italian night life hasn't quite taken hold of Folsom?

Wait...are you my dad's wife? :-) Seriously, ...it could be that they would. It could also be that they haven't caught up with demand...or them being closed is preventing a culture of late night coffee going from springing up. But...over time...I'd be with your arguement.

Why would you drink coffee at night when there is WINE. Mmmmmm. Besides, there's plenty of time to drink coffee in the morning. biggrin.gif

Sometimes it is not JUST the coffee.... it is the "place to hang out" like when on a date after a movie.
