While we all enjoy living in the Parkway, We feel that the HOA has a place in keeping our neighborhood a clean and safe place. We do feel that they have gone too far this time. We would like to know what you think! Again I feel that they do have a place and do a great job most of the time but lets keep it within reason.

Care to describe your yard artwork?

I say if you had that stuff up 3 years already then the HOA can go pound sand.....but they're the law in that neighborhood so good luck with the battle with them.

Based on the attitudes and dealings with Parker Development and the HOA, we vowed never to live in a Parker Development home again. I totally support HOAs, but I think these guys are a little power hungry.

It's a 1981 Camaro.

What's the enforcement mechanism here? Is it only guilt and existential angst, or do they show up at your door with torches and pitchforks, or do they levee fines somehow?

Sometimes we get a notice for this and that, and comply. We submit something for approval, get denied. Fine. We want to change the color of the house. We get approved under X condition. Fine. It's a balance, and they seem to be consistent. We comply, because we signed, and in the end there is no denying it, the community looks awesome.
This is not our first house. We were looking for a real HOA after living in a neighorhood where everything seemed to be allowed and you couldnt get anybody to enforce even simple common sense rules.
Absolutely no regret about buying our house in the Parkway. And would do it again.

So what I'm guessing is Mr. Snooty gets in his BMW or Mercedes and decides to harass us valley folks.

Wow, our society truly is going to hell, isn't it?? It's enough to just shake your head and admit the terrorists (lawyers) have won. Moral of the story: HOA's can be a nightmare, I guess.
