We've been enjoying nearly all of those HD channels ever since we switched to DISH, and several others that still won't be on Comcast. tongue.gif

How much did DISH charge you for an HD/DVR box? They wanted $700 from me three years ago, which is why I left them.

$0 up front.

DirectTV wanted $200 for the HD/DVR about 6 months ago but that may have changed by now.

I think we pay about $10/month to rent an HD DVR from DishNetwork. It's sooo much better than using a VCR.

no kidding, can you believe they are only just NOW adding Discovery HD? Isn't that the first HD channel ever?

I'd rather have no HD channels than pay for 9 channels and only get them 75% of the time.

Not to mention, Comcast HD != HD. It is additionally digitally compressed.

Lie, cheat, and steal from me. Besides that, nothing.

Oh, except for their tragically bad customer service.

Oh, and knocking me offline during important work and costing me financially.

and.. nevermind, it falls on deaf ears.

Just be aware that Comcast Digital is analogue, Comcast HD is high loss compressed, OnDemand is the worst quality broadcast currently available in the US, and all of this is only true when it's actually FUNCTIONAL!

Okay, I'm really done.

I've had all those channels from day-one since I switched to AT&T Uverse.

Sorry Comcast.
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.

We've been assaulted by AT&T salesmen lately at the house. I know their internet can't serve my needs, to slow and no static IP, but I've been trying to find some opinions on their TV service.

I've read online that you can't watch 2 HD programs on 2 seperate sets at the same time, do you know if this is true?

Doesn't UVerse do 10meg dedicated?

Comcast IP's are not Static, btw.

"UP TO" 10Meg. no guarantee. I'm currently solid at 8Meg and bursting to 17meg for the first 100MB of a download.

btw. My Comcast IP is static. I use Comcast business and host my exchange server, webserver, yada yada, yada.

That's true, and while you're recording an HD program, no other sets can watch HD. I hear they are planning to upgrade near the end of the year.
