We just moved back to Folsom from Texas a month ago. I am currently home with my 3 1/2 yr old and 8 mo old and was wondering if there are any mom's groups that meet up here in Broadstone? That would be awesome if so. My 3 1/2 year old daughter would really love some playmates and I would love some adult interaction myself smile.gif.

Thanks a bunch,
Tracey

Just wanted to add - I saw a group of mom's meeting up at John Kemp Park yesterday...didn't know if that was a mom's group, just friends, a church group etc. Would have introduced myself but didn't want to crash the party. smile.gif If there are no groups, maybe there is just a mom out there who also needs a playmate for their son or daughter. We would love to meet you!

There's usually a line of ladies in C-class Mercedes waiting outside Folsom High School before school lets out, does that count?

Hey, why not! :-) The more the merrier. Besides, if the kids don't run away from my daughter (usually the groups of kids don't want to include her which makes me want to cry but she doesn't seem to get it so that's good) and the mom's don't ignore me, it just might be a perfect fit. :-)

There is a group called Sierra Moms and they do all sorts of mom stuff. I'm sure they probably have a website.

Don't be shy about talking to moms. If they are nice people they won't mind you "crashing" their part. smile.gif

Where are you from? I used to spend a lot of time in the Dallas area and loved it. I would have moved there if it wasn't for the bugs. unsure.gif

Thanks Stacycam. I appreciate this info. I'll check it out tomorrow. We are actually from here (lived in the Sacramento/Folsom area for close to 14 years) then moved just north of Austin for a little over a year and now we are back. I know what you mean about the bugs, they are big enough to play you a symphony from the trees (so gross!) and the scorpions/crickets everywhere, no thanks! I do miss the friends we made there though. We actually knew each and every one of our neighbors for once. smile.gif Although we have a really sweet neighbor here who brought over some flowers but unfortunately I was working at the time so we didn't get to meet.

Anyways, thanks so much again. Have a great day!

Sierra Moms would definitely be my suggestion. I've been a member for 2 years or so, and they have lots of activities going on each week for kids of all ages... and some fantastic moms that have become fantastic friends. Feel free to contact me if you need more info... I'd be happy to answer any questions. smile.gif

There used to be a poster near Creekside Church (the big one on the corner of Oak Ave. and Bidwell) advertising for MOPS...Mothers of Preschoolers....I always thought it would be a nice group if I had kids. You might want to check it out. Good luck!

Hi Laura. Thank you. That is actually Lakeside Church. We were members there prior to moving and have started back there again. I was part of MOPS when my older daughter was an infant but this time around, I am working evenings so will not be able to attend their meetings. It was a great time and I did meet some really neat moms there. Thanks again.

Hi Tracey, it's me Stacey, your old neighbor. I tried to e-mail you after the birth of your little one, but it didn't work. I knew you were planning on moving back to Folsom, but didn't know when. We've moved since, but have the same phone number. Give me a call and let's get our kids together; they didn't play much before because they were just babies when we moved. There's a play group that meets Monday mornings at the park by our house, and our house is always one big play date as well! Are you back at Lakeside as well? It'll be good to see you! You can meet our newest addition also!

Hi Stacey! Yes, I remembered that you were expecting shortly before we moved and that you had moved from Steeplechase (I remember the cabana pics smile.gif. Have you moved again since? That would be great to get together again. I have an appt. this upcoming Monday but maybe the following? I'm not sure if I do still have your number. You are welcome to P.M. me with it though. Say hi to everyone for us. So nice connecting again. Oh, yes we are back at Lakeside again. It's good to be back!! smile.gif

Another vote for Sierra Moms from me. I've been a member for the last 4 years and they are GREAT! The dues cycle starts at the end of this month so you would be joining at a perfect time. The General Meeting for July will be a member renewal social, but new members are welcome to come as well! See you at one of the many groups!
