angry.gif On October 26th we went into IHOP for breakfast. I asked for "hot syrup". Fifteen minutes after our food sat getting cold, our waiter brought the syrup. We had to ask for utensils at this time too. He informed me that "they only serve hot syrup upon request." A request shouldn't take 15 minutes. And we shouldn't have to wait for utensils. The food got cold while we waited. The food was disgusting. When we went to pay and leave, the cashier asked if everything was ok. I said, "No, it was horrible." she said "just a minute," and walked to the back. I was rudely approached by the "manager" Patricia who had a horrible attitude and she explained to me again the reason for not serving hot syrup (due to salmonella). I kept asking if I could just pay and leave. I NEVER asked to speak to the manager, I just wanted to pay and leave, but she kept going on and on. She was raising her voice and making a scene. At one point, I sent my two 10 year olds outside. She immediately put me as the bad person and I was in the wrong. What ever happened to customer satisfaction? The overall breakfast was DISGUSTING.

I tried to follow up on Monday and I spoke with Melisa the Director of Operations for IHOP. I told her what happened and she said she was going to call the IHOP and call me back. I am still waiting for her call. I called and spoke to the owner and he too said he would call me back. I'm still waiting for that call to.

Has anyone else had problems with this IHOP? I can't believe people would treat their customers like this. angry.gif

I've had pretty good customer service there, but I'm usually there in the evening, so likely a different shift manager and crew. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but i think your escalation to the owner and corporate is appropriate.
I would rather be Backpacking

Not sure if you are being sarcastic. We have two, the one by Sam's and one at the corner of E Bidwell and Blue Ravine (the older one). We used to go the one on Blue Ravine and were generally satisfied with the service. Have not been in a while (switched to Waffle Barn for the rare breakfast out with the kids), but the experience described in the OP is very insulting and not acceptable.

We go to the one on Blue Ravine and E Bidwell every Friday night after football with a big group and they are AWESOME.. they know the boys well enough that when we come in we get the same table(s) and each boy gets a pitcher of their favorite drink and if it's are normal waiter he knows exactly what they drink and what they eat.. They are great there.. Never been to the one by Sams but have heard several complaints about the service..

I just recently noticed the one over by BevMo....not that I go to BevMo alot...well, I go there once in awhile.

OK, I go there just an average amount. Just a couple times a week.

OK, I go there enough to where they should offer me shares of stock.

Never been to IHOP. wacko.gif

We've eaten at the IHOP on Iron Point twice now and both times I thought the food was lacking. I prefer the other IHOP (E. Bidwell & Blue Ravine) and even though we are closer to the Iron Point location we will make the drive to the other one should the urge ever hit again.

P.S. I miss Bevmo.......

+1 more here for the Bidwell IHOP, I haven't been in months but can tell you the staff is super. Overall IHOP is just marginal food wise no matter which one you go to be it here or Kansas. It's hard to choose IHOP sometimes when Mimi's breakfast is soooo oo Good.

The two IHOPs used to be owned by different people, but about four or so months ago the E. Bidwell one was purchased by the same person who owns the other location. I believe that same person owns just about every IHOP in the Sacramento area. In any case, I've always had much better service at the E. Bidwell location. The group of servers they have are just much nicer and more professional.

I don't go there as much as I used to, but when I sat down the server would automatically bring me a carafe of tea and a pot of coffee for my wife.

I agree with previous posters. The Blue Ravine/Bidwell is much better than the one near Sam's club. The one near Sam's Club is always short staffed. They apologize for bad service but never seem to improve. The Blue Ravine one is older but the people are friendlier. It is good for night time breakfast for sure but Mimi's is better during traditional breakfast times.

You betcha.

Hey, after a year or so, everyone will be inceasing their trips to BevMo to "ease the pain". Oh, and don't worry about my wealth...I feel for the people that don't have wealth!!

Things will be even tougher for them, sadly. cheers.gif
