Listen to this 47 year old sing. Susan Boyle. She really surprised the judges.

47 Year old Susan Boyle wows the judges with her performance in the auditions for Britains Got Talent, singing I dreamed a dream from Les Miserables.

Here are the Lyrics(Thanks to NewHotdox) -

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life woth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung
No wine untasted.

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame.

And still
I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather...

I had a dream my life would be
So different form this hell I'm living
so different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

What a wonderful voice - I have watched it 4-5 times - just shows that vocal cords and looks need not match - Hope she goes far ...

Also note that it was a very fitting song - lyrics - for Susan's ambitions...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Except I think that is Eponine's song and she dies shortly thereafter.

My Bad- I did not read all the lyrics- and do not know the story- but Susan is living a dream ... and doing well at it

And they get Top Gear, too! But then I remember Britain is basically a police state with cameras everywhere and I don't mind it so much any more.

I would have to agree with you- I have found the talent on BGT over the last 3 years far more reaching to the common person such as Susan, and Paul Potts- not lookers but huge talents...

The look on Simon's face when she first started singing...... Priceless. smile.gif

He was getting ready to tank her. Man, did he look stunned.

So glad you posted this again.....it was so refreshing to see those judges shamed by their first impressions and made to see how unfair they are when judging by appearances only.

I cried when I heard Susan sing because she had had this talent all her life, yet had never been given a chance.

Her voice is wonderful, and I only hope that fame doesn't ruin her life, with all that comes with it.

That would be a shame for such a sweet, sweet person.

Thanks....
