Microsoft along with Emory University has developed a very impressive H1N1 self assessment website. This was featured on CNN as well:

The baby is doing better, thanks. She was little to begin with, but has lost weight due to the meds and zero apetite. She still has a terrible crupy like cough. Tamiflu has run its course and there is no fever at all now for three days. We are still waiting for the test results for the H1N1. I can't believe that it takes this long.

I am glad to hear that. I guess they are so back loaded it is ridiculous. Please let us know if she did have h1n1. Sure sounds like it. If so, you made it and good for all of you.

Interesting...

I'm recovering from the flu that I suspect could have been this one, due to the pressure in the chest points... I definitely noted that feeling, which preceded the chest wheeziness before I looked up the symptoms of H1N1 out of curiosity! Thought it was just a cold last week, before spending all Saturday working on a family haunted house... Needless to say, I spent the majority of the work week at home...

Seems many in my extended family have had the flu concurrent with mine... Perhaps it spread when we were altogether about two weeks ago... Or maybe it was just the regular flu. I read online that they some facilities aren't interested in testing healthy adults without underlying conditions... Kids, I imagine, are a different story.
Economic Meter for the Wealthy...
Reagan (1980-88) Dow 876 - 1879; 114.6% increase
Bush I (1988-92) Dow 1958 - 3254; 66.1% increase
Clinton (1992-2001) Dow 3223-10588; 228.5% increase
Bush II (2001 - Jan. 20, 2009) Dow 10588 - 7949; 24.9% DECREASE
Obama (2009-Nov. 6, 2009) Dow 7949 - 10,023; 26% Increase
"Gr. Recession" Recovery? - Dow Peak: 10/7/07 - 11/6/09; 14,165-
10,023; Down 29%

am glad you are feeling better. This H1N1 is the REAL deal. My good friend, Dr. Graham (infectious disease specialist) posted this on his FB profile:

Sad for my patient, a young mother with no previous medical problems dying from H1N1 in the ICU. Get vaccinated if you are eligible (and if there's any vaccine around)

Or you could be like the Washington Redskins cheerleader who was diagnosed with dystonia, a rare neurological condition with no cure, brought on after getting the H1N1 vaccine.

A story is starting to emerge that in the Ukraine the H1N1 has mutated and this current vaccine will not work on it. Could be BS, but time will tell.

it took 4 days for results and my son was IN the hospital, don't know if that matters or not to the lab that conducts the test. the cough lasted for a little over 3 weeks....

That was allegedly the "Seasonal Flu" vaccine. NOT the H1N1 vaccine. Some neurologists think its all in her head basically. As far as I know there has never been another recorded case of that happening with the seasonal flu shot in the US. If it is in her head or isn't doesn't really matter. They say that's 1 in well over a million chances. You chance of getting the swine flu are almost guaranteed over the next year or two if you don't get the vaccine. Chances of getting the swine flu and dying from it are a HECK of alot worse then 1/1,000,000.

Get the vaccine or don't. Only scary thing about not getting the vaccine is if someone comes down with it mildly, live through it but in the meantime accidently spread it to an infant or prego lady who might not have the same chances. I'm not saying we all have to feel that way but I was gonna have my babies get the vaccine but not me or my wife until I thought about that. If everyone dies of the vaccine or something then at least MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of us are all going down together...LOL.

So far the stand is the Ukraine has NOT had any mutation and the vaccine is still the same effectiveness.

NOT the H1N1 vaccine. I believe that 1 in a million case was for the seasonal flu shot. Also, she was NOt a Redskins cheerleader. She wanted to try out to be a cheerleader.

Thats what gets me. People believe these outrageous stories as Gospel. In fact, some may even elect NOT to vaccinate their young kids BECAUSE of stories like these because they do not have any trust in the scientific community. Its a good thing to be skeptical, but extremism can cost you a life.

People also need to keep in mind that correlation does not equal causation.

There will be a few people who get a flu shot, and then the next day are diagnosed with cancer, fibromyalgia, or any number of other dread diseases. That doesn't mean the flu shot caused the disease; it's just a coincidence.

EXACTLY... My inlaws are waaaay into magic cures and remedies that are hidden secrets in the FDA's conspiracy in support of the drug companies... They've been blabbing all day about curing themselves and their grandkids of the flu with their latest "magic water"... Nevermind that they're flat broke and living with us now, their $50 6-oz bottle of "oxy-silver" is now a needed expense.... rolleyes.gif
