I hear it starts on ;uly 2 at 6 pm, half an hour prior to the first road night- so there is some competition to stay near the barbques and bars or dust and horse (uhhh, hmmm) stuff.
I enjoy the clatter of hoooves and stirrups and canted 10 gallon stetsons on top of boisterous faces.
Besides-I hear the bullipeds are gonna run with the cows this year-in lederhosen! Hahahaha!!!

But...to answer your question...not a clue.
Have you asked your neighborhood hoa representative?
Might be a good place to start asking questions....

Cattle Drive is July 1 at 630pm. Goes down Natoma to Coloma to Sutter. Most fun on Sutter. 700 block has shade, and your truly runs the safety crew on that block. Come on down!

Bs if u ask me and when I wrote to the Xmas parade and asked if our street could be inc. they said no, even though there are tons of kids on the street and it was on their way! Someone told me that the people in charge choose their streets, so u don't really have a say-I believe it b/c I requested two years in a row and our home is right by a school. They go on every street except ours in the neighborhood and it's a circle. Really odd that they don't alternate streets so it's fair.

To Ducky and other poster- fire trucks assigned to neighborhoods should be able to partipate in this kinda positive neighborhood stuff that these guys are day in and day out-protecting.
The firemen work 24/7/3 regardless of holidays.
The only real cost is the fuel-which is negligent when in their own neighborhood.
I think the real issue is that someone-a long time ago started a tradition and others are jealous.
Jeesh people. Chill.
Its just as much fun to make lemonade and chocolate chip cookies and drop it off at the all volunteer fire stations on the 4th.
Really!
Make a tradition. They are great.

I do think traditions are great. I love that they still do Santa pulled by the fire trucks and escorted by the PD at Christmas. I'm not jealous or trying to stop anybody's fun.
I'm just trying to think about this from a practical standpoint on a holiday that I assume would be busy for the FD. If the parade happens early in the day before people start doing their fireworks then I guess you are right about them being in the neighborhood anyway and it is definitely a positive thing, but I'm thinking in the evening they already have their hands full.
I know the nearest fire station to my neighborhood are kept pretty busy on the 4th between covering the rodeo and chasing down bottle rockets.
Where are the volunteer fire stations in Folsom? I thought ours were all paid.

Tradition is one thing, not inc other neighborhoods/streets isn't right. Just like the Santa parade make sure u alternate streets-so not fair if your street never gets attended.

Everyone is invited to the cattle run on July 1, so I guess technically I'll claim that as my neighborhood's parade. Looking forward to the bullipedes again.

The Santa parade has never been down our street, either. But when the kidlings were little we just checked the routes and schedules and went to a street where we could see it. They can't be everywhere, and I suspect they pick areas they think will be high traffic.
