I wanted to find out if anyone knows how to get the actual response times for a particular incident?  My neighbors home caught on fire over a week ago and her daughter was home alone.  She came to my house and I called 911 and it took a very long time for the fire department to respond.  They also had to call in Sac Metro to assist in the fire.  It started as a small kitchen fire but grew to a very large one and I feel as though it could have remained a smaller fire if the response time was a bit quicker.  My friend who is a Sac Metro fire fighter said their response times are supposed to be under 3 minutes.

Thought I read that the recent fire on Rockport took 6 minutes for them to arrive.

Yes it did but it was not that fire.  This fire was Thursday last week.

The fire station next to the sports complex should be able to get there quickly. Maybe there was another incident at the same time?

reduction in services?

Really windy lately, maybe there were several calls, dont we only have 1 1/2 medics for 911 calls, now?

might have to blame this on the economy.

Just a question...did you attempt to initiate fire control procedures (put out or minimize the fire)? I know I lived less than a block from the FD, and I was woken up by my neighbor screaming one morning. She was outside, and her house was on fire (wall heater). I called 911 and got the hose. By the time the FD got there, the fire was out (both inside and outside the house). They tore up the wall and made sure there were no embers. Had I waited, the whole structure would have been involved. That said, there are different types of fires, and you shouldn't put yourself at any risk that makes you uncomfortable.

I have brought ths up before and Folsom has slow response times compared to many cities that have a lot of traffic. In addition there was a burglary break-in in our neighborhood last week and not on,y did the cop went to the wrong home two streets over, he knew the description of the burglars and saw them on his way to the home and didnt stop them and didn't say why he didn't. . I believe the cop by his demeanor purposely didn't wanna walk in on a potentially deadly scenario. There is no way he could've got the address wrong bc the caller told the dispatcher several Xs the address.
also, I personally believe once Folsom got its budget cut by several engines it has negatively affected our community significantly even though the cuts weren't drastic. I have seen a few fires where our family can see the smoke for over ten minutes before anyone can hear a truck. So many homes in Lexington Hills have burned down when the fire dept is literally less than two minutes away. It's unacceptable.

The fire in ER last summer took almost 8 mins for trucks to arrive.  In that time, the fire went from black smoke to full on flames consuming the house.  That seems too long and really warrants a look at a station in ER.

Why would the cop have a responsibility to enter the fire? His job is to clear a path for the fire responders and make sure traffic rerouted. Why are you blaming the cop? Would you blame the cop for a fire if he hadnt done his job and moved traffic out of the way, and fire truck wasnt able to get there faster in the neighborhood and caused the fire to billow out of control? I hate to say it, because it sounds callous, albeit true, but: sometimes you just cant stop a fire from getting out of control. Just like sometimes lifeguards cant save all drown victims. Or medics cant save all heart attack victims while on the way to the hospital.

She wasn't talking about the cop putting out a fire, she was talking about a cop not stopping a crime.
