Has anyone seen this letter? A friend posted it on her facebook page. The author is a realtor based in Rancho Cordova.

I am working on a project with a local designer who has been asked to work on a Complete Streets Corridor Plan for East Bidwell Street in the City of Folsom. Part of the opportunity includes identifying opportunity sites (vacant, underutilized, or potential redevelopment), and suggesting future uses and standards for their evolution. We are currently in the discovery stage of the project.

We would love to have your input and thoughts on 1) what people are looking for (and cannot find) in the market, from a retail, office, commercial and residential standpoint, and 2) what would make this corridor more inviting as a project opportunity location.

Let me know in an ideal world, what you would want around you!! If it is a local garden, farmers market, or better fitness areas designated, let me know!

I agree. I was also thinking about the empty lot between Iron Point & Broadstone Pkwy. Perhaps a naturescape (with lots of trees) with paths, or something historicish related to the railroad track. I think I've seen the train rides going all the way up to Cal Fit...so something to feature the historic train. If we must have more shopping, blend it into the naturescape. Maybe we could get some of those stores that originally were planned for the Palladio, but put them further down in the older part of E Bidwell like the Raleys shopping center. I think revitalization definitely needs to be in the plan, not just new development towards Hwy 50.

Can we have Office Max back please? (Just talking out loud, I know it won't happen.) Not a fan of Staples or Office Depot.

Yes, bookstore. I know everyone says amazon has conquered the book world but all I also keep hearing people asking for bookstores.

We need a decent mid-range store like Macy's. Something nicer than Kohl's.

So once you are inside these "office box" places, what's the difference? Just trying to understand since they seem mostly the same.

I presume we're talking about the Riley-to-Wales stretch?  It's pretty dire and it would be difficult to come through with a modernization that wasn't an improvement.

I'd like the roads up to modern standards.

I'd like bike lanes.  There's basically nothing for bikes between the borders of the power line, Natoma, Blue Ravine, and Riley.  Sidewalk on the WB side too while we're at it.

Isn't something going to be done with that school?  Recall reading it here but not details.  If not, give them some serious landscaping.  Put a proper traffic light by the bus/crosswalk, not blinky sidewalks.

Extend effort along Riley to Natoma.
