And with regards to the choking game, I still don't understand why killing yourself (or getting close) is entertaining.
According to some information on the website, it gives you a high. And I'm sure we've all had addictions to something at one point in life.

Another thought: I hope the Folsom police are capable of investigating a situation like this competently. True crime books are replete with stories of small town police forces who are too proud to call in the FBI or other help -- and end up hopelessly compromising the crime scene. I recall that this is what happened in the Jon Benet case.
We've always been happy with the Folsom police response to minor calls -- but I hope they have some good forensic investigators on staff. Too bad there's no real life Bones...

This post is totally offensive to me for several reasons:
1) hate to break this to you, but Folsom is no longer a "small town"
2) Folsom doesn't NEED to have "good forensic investigators on staff", as the county of Sacramento AND the California Department of Justice have resources available to local law enforcement agencies.
3) The notion that police officers in a smaller suburban police department are ill-qualified to handle what could be considered "high profile" investigations is ludicrous. Does anyone realize that personnel could have come from large metropolitan agencies and the change was made to a smaller nicer area just because it was better for their families or long term survival?
To say that your officers are good enough to handle "minor calls" is offensive to your local officers. I suspect you have no idea what the officers actually do on a day to day basis, either because you don't WANT to think actual crime gets committed in the city, or because you're too stupid to realize it does.
We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

This post is totally offensive to me for several reasons:
I always wonder about people who are so quick to be "offended."
I bet the police force in Boulder, Colorado (home of Jon Benet Ramsey -- population 95,000) thought they were pretty competent to investigate a murder, too. Too bad they traipsed through the crime scene and disturbed the body before the investigation was begun...
I've read many other non-fiction accounts of similar police mishaps.
But maybe Folsom is a lot more competent than some of these other police departments. Time will tell...

Their is no way that he could have done that all by himself. With his legs bound, hands bound and a dog leash going from were his legs were bound to the rope around his neck. NO way.

That's just the kind of speculation nobody needs. Those are false rumors and not facts.
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

Are you saying false facts about him being bound by his feet and a dog leash?

Wonder away. I bet the Police Department in Los Angeles (where Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown-Simpson were killed--population9,935,000) felt they were competent enough to inviestigate that murder scene.
I'm quick to be offended by offensive comments like these. You're second guessing the abilities of the police department. Have you ever been on a murder scene? I have. Until you know what you have, things get "traipsed on" all the time. How about shut up and let the police do their job before you jump to any more conclusions about their ability OR the investigation.

No, I think it was more "Their is no way that he could have done that all by himself. With his legs bound, hands bound and a dog leash going from were his legs were bound to the rope around his neck. NO way."
His hands weren't bound, and the leash wasn't going from his legs to his neck. This is a sad enough situation without throwing fuel on the fire.

You all need to do some research before you make stupid statements.....if you are concerned about how he could get himself into that situation, stop talking and look it up....."autoerotic". Some of the articles give you instructions on how to do it..... do you really think someone got the family dog leash and hung him with it??? if you do, then I guess the parents are covering up the murder to!!!! GET REAL people! if the family has excepted this to be an accident, why cant you people???? please stop wondering aloud and do your research...stop making this kid the type of person someone wanted to kill...

I think if everybody would google like old idunno suggested autoerotic we could put this post to bed and let the family grieve in peace. especailly if tessica is correct and his hands were not bound. what google said was this kind of accident causes about 500 to 1000 deaths a year.
second point, for old idunno, we disagree all the time on my folsom but we don't call folks stupid even when we think they might be off the track a bit.
