...and in some cases its like you have some kind of vendetta against the owners...

I do not know the owners of the restaurants I rated poorly. I have no hidden agenda. However, I will continue: "TELL LIKE IT IS".
Personally, its a waste of my money & my time to eat their food. "bad" food/"bad" restaurants are EASY to find. They are everywhere. I can't rely on MyFolsom's Reviews nor Village Life/Folsom Life/FolsomTelegraph.
I can't rely on zagat either. I do like Michelin Guide http://www.micheling....com/guide.html

My life will move on after the Holidays... but will return occasionally off and on...

Bon Appétit!

What does Michelin say about Macaroni Grill? You know, one of the bad food restaurants that are EASY to find.

Thanks for the reply and I agree about not wanting to waste money on bad food.

on the owners and poor rating comment - doesn't that statement above contradict your previous statement about Aloha Sushi when you noted the owner was rude and you gave them extremely low ratings with your note about the owner in your rating?

you also never elaborated as to why you thought he was rude. so thats like me saying I walked into macaroni grill yesterday and arbitrarily said that the owner was rude but I won't bother to tell you why - I will just give them low ratings (see my point?)

they only cover 4 major cities, San Fran, L.A., NY and Vegas

I've always wondered - why is a tire company considered a great source/publisher for restaurant reviews?

I'd rather read a guide/review by someone who's a pro in the biz (and seriously knows what they are talking about), like Gordon Ramsey or Emeril etc...

Try to get out of the Folsom "BOX".

Merely a suggestion.

Sorry, I like to support our local restaurants as a priority - probably because I live here

Yes, you are correct.
Il Fornaio
400 Capitol Mall
Sacramento, CA CA 95814
(916) 446-4100

Great Tiramisu and Beef Carpaccio.
Il Fornaio would do well in the Folsom area, Hwy 50 & E Bidwell, near Fats.

Bon Appétit!

Did they close the one in Gold River? There was one there by Bel Air a few years ago.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

You are really in "THE BOX". Try to learn about Michelin Restaurant Guide...learn about the Culinary World...
It has nothing to do with Independent owners or Franchise.

Again, merely a suggestion.

If I remember correctly, Michelin is huge in France (and Europe). They make tires, then published fantastic maps, then guidebooks to go along with their maps. Tires for driving, maps for driving, guidebooks for when you're too tired or hungry to keep driving.

But back to your point. Spicy likes Macaroni Grill. I've been to the ones in Folsom and Roseville a half dozen times and I think their food is barely better than Olive Garden, and sometimes even more bland-tastes like it's from a can. It is not worth more than a "3" for food.

I do go to Macaroni Grill in Folsom & Roseville quite often. I have enjoyed their food & service over the years.
I only support restaurants that provide Good Food & Good Service to me regardless independent or franchise.

We all have our preferences...

HA! I find it funny that you're telling Davburr to learn about the Culinary World! This dude has eaten everywhere (OK, except for Midtown Sacramento), all around the world, loves food and holds such an open foodie mind.

Ive read them before and many more (they're ok but in many cases they're not realistic for regular diners), I have also studied culinary arts and do quite a bit of cooking on a weekly basis and additionally we dine out at least once or twice a week. I've also traveled extensively on business and have dined at some very nice places all over the US and the world, so I think I know just a little bit of what I'm talking about when I discuss foods and restaurants.

But I don't claim to be an expert like you do tongue.gif

and....if living in Folsom is being in THE BOX, then I'm happy to be here.

I'm just one who is not keen on driving an hour to go out to a restaurant when there are so many good choices right here in town.
