yikes, and you guys gave me a hard time about giving a bad review on a restaurant, before?

when i went there i ordered the crab benedict and aside from it being cold, the crab was totally rancid and room temp (warmer than the hollandaise and egg) which led me to believe it had been sitting out to long. as someone who worked in the restaurant biz for over ten years, i know things happen. So, I told the server it was bad, and asked to please just have a couple of eggs and toast. I didn't make a huge deal about it, but if it were my kitchen i'd want to know if someone was sending out crap they wouldn't feed their dog.

what made me decide to never go there again was that the manager/owner (didn't ask) came back with my dish i sent back and proceeded (sp?) to take a bite out of it and tell me he thought it was fine. i got really pissed and told the guy, great for you, but that tastes like a**! maybe someone left it out, i dunno, but i would never serve it, nor would i argue with a customer over the quality of my ingredients. then he blew me off and walked away.

arrrggg! that still makes me mad! i totally didn't even think twice about the food and probably would have gone back assuming it was a mistake, but he pushed me over the edge!

grrr...there's nothing worse then bad customer service.

I went here today and had the Folsom omelet and it was awesome! Great food and great service.

yeah, and it was fine. i'm sure it's a fine place normally, or not, i never went back. like i said though, it was purely the customer service.

i can totally overlook someone making a mistake (i.e. leaving something out, or over/under cooking an item), but treating a customer poorly is not a mistake. hopefully for thier sake, that guy is gone or just lost his temper that once.

Has anyone tried Early Toast, the restaurant that replaced My Grandma's Kitchen? Is it related to Toast in Granite Bay??

We had breakfast there one Saturday morning about a month ago. We both really liked it a lot! We'll go there again.

Went there last weekend because it was close and really didn't feel like driving across town. Took a good while to be seated, it was busy, so no problem. Got seated, ordered and waited for our food. Everyone around us order and was served. A good while later we got our food... good thing was we we not in a hurry. Bad thing... horrible. Ordered Eggs Benedict and it was one of the worst I've had. Hash browns tasted funny, like cardboard. Wife said the same about her hash browns. We won't be back. I won't be so lazy next time and WILL drive across town to Sutter Street Grill.

We went today for Mother's Day and it was good! Loved the Maui pancake and the Folsom omlet (DH and I shared these and were both quite full after). Service was decent considering how crowded it was. We will definitely go back!
