One thing I can tell all of you, that at their previous location when the had the pig over the almondwood fire you you smell the smoke wafting everywhere !! Can you inmagine the drooling people walking down sutterr st? They should put out a table in front loaded with napkins so folks can clean themselves up, Don't miss this one !!

I just lost my appetite.

I am sorry, I guess I shouldn't have gotten so descriptive ??? hehe but The aroma of the barbque pig wafting down Sutter St. will drive many (If not most) folks into their true carnivoreian nature that was bestowed to us by our Creator and want to eat... And I can say that at least we have evolved enough to use FIRE to cook our foods and make them much more tasty !! Where there is Smoke.... There is Food... Carnivore...

Naga - you were spot on with your opinion of this place.

Naga seems to have some credibility ratings. He/She might be a food expert.

I personally don't read myfolsom gang in the restaurants section of this forum.
I prefer Naga's reviews.

I personally don't think MyFolsom has nearly enough sock-puppet accounts. How about a few dozen more to round out the weekend?

I have a working theory that Naga changed a couple of months back. I'm not sure the new Naga is the same person as the old Naga.
I would rather be Backpacking

I have heard about grooming or harvesting characters\accounts for online gaming but don't think it applies here however I agree something changed between the election and first of the year.

After reading all the food threads on here, davburr and evaders opinions are the most accurate. I always follow their recommendations and value what they have to say about restaurants in Folsom. I don't know about Naga, I didn't like China Buffet that he kept recommending over and over.

Back on the subject, the bbq at Old Europe on Saturday was pretty good. I ate so much I had to be rolled home.

Here is a heads up on what is hot at Old Europe Restaurant located in Historic Folsom:

Thursday April 2nd all day:

I can't wait to try these guys out - everything I've heard has been fabulous! Unfortunately, I gave up meat for Lent, and have my eye firmly set on the roasted pork shank as my first victim on the menu.

But then again, the duck sounds really good too - so maybe that would tide me over until Easter...

Went to Old Europe (AGAIN!) on Friday Night - Introduced myself to davburr running the Bar that night.

We had different dinners than the last time we came in, and were still just as impressed!

I had the Pork Roast, and my wife had the Wiener Schnitzel and it was very good - we both had the Spätzle as a side dish - very traditional.

I felt like I was back in Germany! Add a Munich Spaten to wash it down and I thought I'd walk outside into some German town, but alas I was still in Folsom.

If you like European food, "Old Europe" should not disappoint!

Looking at the menu online, it seems the famous German Burger is only on the late night menu. Is it really not available for lunch as well?

It is most definitely available for lunch, and IIRC significantly cheaper than their "late night" price.
