2Aces, I hope you don't think I'm a butt-head, but it's fun to look at the details of some things.  Take a look at the pic you posted earlier and notice how many black people are in the background.  keep in mind this is at a rally in Alabama which is 25% black.  This pic implies that very few black people like Trump.  what could be the reason?

 

Some anecdotal evidence for you...    Many of my friends at work happen to be black.   Some of them are ex service members, some are gun owners, most of them have at least a 4 year college degree in a scientific discipline, others an AA degree or extensive military service.   One of my friends, who happens to be one of my range partners, absolutely hates Obama, he does not like Trump that much either, kinda like I feel.   But he voted the Constitution and for a strong America.  He has seen what Obama has done to this country internationally and internally.  He regrets voting for Obama and voted Trump this last time.  At work we talk often about politics, history, and our current state of affairs.  The sad thing is that we can't talk when anybody else is around, can't talk out loud in the halls or the cafe.  In the work environment the only talk allowed in the PC culture is liberal talk.  You can have all the "Feel the Bern" or "I'm with Her" stickers on your car or wear your Hillary shirt walking down the hall but not the other way around.  People are too scared to do it, show that you are conservative.  Overall, I'd say 30 to 40% of the people at work, who happen to be black, voted for Trump.  They just did so quietly because if the "tolerant" ones found out that they voted for Trump they would be in for it....!   A lot of scorn and retribution, especially from other black folk of the progressive persuasion.  A lot of folks, no matter their race, just quietly voted Trump because of the fear of retribution at work and in their neighborhood.  This is a sad state of affairs, talk about voter intimidation...!   And just think for a second, in Alabama, if you are black and wan't to go to a Trump rally and support him you are in for a world of hurt from the other side.  Best to stay home, shut up, and quietly vote your conscience and don't tell anybody.   Again, our "tolerant" progressive PC culture of intimidation.  And another point, why is it that if you are a black person in this country it is assumed by white liberals that you vote democrat....?   That kind of thinking is racist in itself but yet I see it everyday in the news.  Chris

Chris, good observations.  What you're saying is how people project themselves in public or at work isn't always the same as how they vote.  I tend to agree with this.  it's the result of the power of social media to gather peer pressure and apply it to whatever the latest "fad" persuasion might be.  Ultimately, the result is that most people believe their "image" is more important than their "substance".  A sad state of affairs.  I've noticed this trend is especially strong in California since I've moved here.  but no surprise since one of the largest industries in this state is all about image, and cares little about substance...the entertainment industry. 

 

This phenomenon doesn't occur so much in the mountain states where I've worked for 1000's of years.  My experience is mtn states people tend to say what they believe, and respect the opinions of others without prejudice.  I always say what I think, whether it be in these discussion forums, or in public, or with family/neighbors/friends/associates/colleagues/strangers.  And if they disagree, doesn't bother me.  Of course I'm an old coot and half retired, you won't believe the stuff I say and get away with because I look like a fossil. Try it if you're a geezer, it's fun.

Thanks Who Do....    Yes, it's a little weird here in PC, progressive, liberal left CA........   Say the right things and you are cool.   Say the "wrong" things and you are fired, un-friend-ed on all sorts of social media, and by the "tolerant" ones, the ones who embrace diversity and other alternate opinions............?  So they say.......   Been to Boston, New York state a few times........  On business......    Back in the day, the 1980's and mid 90's.....    They say what they mean, and right in your face....!   I remember being in Boston, in a bar, somewhere near Fenway Park.......  Trying to get a few beers in me before the game......   After taking a course at MIT for the week......   Walked into a bar, immediately was asked where I was from.   I said "San Francisco"........   So me and my business partner were immediately deemed as "gay" and boyfriends.......?   Took many a beer to sway them the other way......  Not that I cared,  not my problem, business "expence" as they say, except for the coming fist fight, and soon........  Said we were just dudes on a business trip, and got wives at home, and kids.....   how funny was that....?   That's either a fist fight right away or buying a few beers for them and showing them the way.......    I do like that though, saying what you think right away.   Saves a lot of time...........!   And if I just happened to be gay I would have broken a few noses and cracked a few family jewels before I went down, guaranteed..........!    I'm Irish, I can't help myself...........    Chris

Trails, not so much like for Trump more like hatred for Hillary and all she stands for, corruption, the democratic party, a third O'bummer term, more taxes, anti 2A, anti Obama care (which has cost me a lot of $) and the one to make the next 1 to 3 SCOTUS picks.   I essentially held my nose and voted for the 2A and the next SCOTUS picks.  Chris

 

p.s.   In California alone in the last two years we issued 806,000 undocumented residents (Illegal Mexicans) driver’s licenses.  Once you have a photo ID you know what you can do, vote......   Yo Vote'......!

Yep, wait and see.  I think you will be ok in the end.  One to three potus picks, constitutionalist hopefully and not progressive retards..........   Hold your nose and just wait and see.   I think two years for big stuff fixes....   Obama care........   Corporate tax rates sooner would be good, that would be a kick in the pants to the economy right quick.   Stay out of conflict with Russia and China and all will be good........   That's the short answer.   Chris
