They won't be suspended because of indulgent blind parents who would become enraged at school officials for holding their daughter accountable for their bad behavior. There is a huge double standard at play here. Case in point, recently at FHS a girl was bending over revealing a bare back, giant tattoo and a flashy thong practically rising up to the middle of her back. A female teacher walked by and did a double take - rather disgusted by what she saw - and exclaimed "nice thong!" in a saracastic tone of voice. Within several hours, the girl and her parents and THEIR ATTORNEY appeared at the HS. The teacher was forced to apologize for her "rude" comments.
But this is outrageous! There IS a DRESS CODE at the high school!
Moreover, California Ed. Code states in numerous sections that students can be suspended for engaging in activities and behaviors whcih threaten a safe and orderly environment or which cause a disruption of school activities.
How do teachers teach and students pay attention if other students are allowed to come to school half naked and to engage in lewd behavior in the classroom!!?
Isn't propositioning a teacher for a better grade in exchange for sexual favors considered cheating?! Isn't cheating a suspendable behavior?
None of this excuses a teacher misbehaving in return. However, if all these things are truly happening on the FHS campus, WHY IS THE ADMINISTRATION NOT TAKING APPROPRIATE ACTION AGAINST THE STUDENTS!
Let the mommies and daddies bring their lawyers to school to defend their scantily clad daughters. If I were a litigious person, I suppose I could hire an attorney to make the claim that my son is being denied access to a safe and productive learning environment because lewd activity is going on in the classroom.
