I've got an idea. How about bagging more chain restaurants and stores and bring in some one of a kind businesses? We don't want to turn into Roseville. Folsom is original, and the businesses should reflect that originality.

A Filipino restaurant.... someone mentioned Goldilocks... yeah!

Once in a while we miss Dunkin Donuts, too -- ubiquitous in the East Coast, only one in the Sac area.

Hey, how 'bout a White Castle smile.gif (I know you can get them Frozen at Sam's -- but kinda pricey at ~50c per slider)

Did someone mention Peet's Coffee?! -- Now there is my weakness. A holdover from my college days at Berkeley. Definitely a step above Starbucks.

Oh, the irony! Folsom was almost entirely non-chain stores and restaurants up until the mid-80s!!!!

Goes to show you that the pendulum swings one way and then the other way.................

Speaking of that, I went to an 18th birthday party of a friend's daughter.

I asked her mom where the kid was planning to go to college. She told me that she wasn't, at least not now. She said that there is a Hooters opening in Natomas, and that her daughter knows the manager to be, and he would hire her as a waitress.

She said to me, "If you've got 'em, use 'em".

Way to aim high, mom.

I wish there was a big wall around folsom and it's surrounding communities that could keep all of you from southern california and the bay area out along with your big box chain stores that only stimulate more growth (a.k.a suburban sprawl) that destroy our small communities that you all find "quiant" and "peaceful" to begin with. If you want your starbucks and your walmart and your home depot and your gigantic malls then go back to where you came from and leave our towns alone. Stop spreading the slum that is southern california and the bay area northward we don't want it.

LOL - I visited all three of those this weekend alone! I'm very happy to have so many shoppng choices in our community. I also went to Kohls, Best Buy and the Outlet mall. I can find everything I need and never have to leave Folsom. And I've lived in this area for going on 20 years now, in case you plan on considering me a 'transplant'. All we need is a few more restaurants, maybe a good sports bar, and we'll be set. Then we can build that wall because I won't need to leave!

I wish there as an amusment park, like Disneyland *chuckling*

What a way to put Folsom on the map!!!! I say lets petition for one and build it south of Highway 50. It will generate huge amounts of revenue in the long run, and Folsom will become a hot spot!!!!

Looks like Fountains "lifetstyle shopping center" in Roseville is going forward.
Whole Foods is going in there, so that makes it less likely there will be one in Folsom now, but I suppose it could still be possible.

Thanks matt. Whole Foods in Roseville is better than nothing. (I don't like the drive to Sacramento.)

Too bad it's not Folsom, however. Had it been so, I would have agreed to that wall built around our city, as foothillnative and Ahnold mentioned!
