I'm pulling for Taylor. I called in around 150 votes for him last night...

First time I have voted this year...

well, since I am 3 hours ahead you folkers over here on the east coast....I've already viewed AI tonight. I won't spoil it for you....but who went home was pretty much who I predicted would.
Next week should be interesting....gonna be a little harder to decide on who might go home next.

There is this website:

http://www.votefortheworst.com/

After endorsing Kevin Covais and Kellie Pickler, they have now picked Taylor as "the worst".

I wonder if people voting for "the worst" really makes an impact. I think Taylor has enough fans already, these people from VFTW are only pushing his votes higher.

Paris goes home. I think America got it right. My prediction is Chris to win (Even though McPheever is my favorite). Chris is going to be a money making machine for Simon Cowel.

You're probably right about Chris winning, however I really don't see him as a money making machine. He's VERY one-dimensional.

If he wins and signs a big record deal, when all the hype of winning AI wears off, in the music world, he'll be nothing more then "just another rocker".

He talent isn't one-dimensional. He did the country week well, and the "Wonderful World" and "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" songs well too. He probably won't record those, however, because it's obvious he likes to rock it.

I'm not into popular music very much, so I can't explain my addiction to this show, but my guess is that I'm not going to be too fond of what the winner puts out regardless of who wins. They're going to sing crappy songs that appeal to the masses. Not to say they aren't talented, but who really thinks that that Carrie Underwood song "Inside your Heaven" is a good song? She sings really well, but the song bites.

I guess Paris' grating cutesy perkiness finally caught up with her.

Elliott continually proves that he is the best singer on the show, but it's a popularity contest, so McPheever wins.

I guess Chris is one-dimensional in a way, but I'm glad he has stayed true to his voice and hasn't compromised it at all. Simon seems to give the rockers on American Idol a hard time. In the past there have been contestants who have been "rockers", and Simon calls them a 'sheep in wool clothing' and tells them their rocker voice dosn't go well singing, say, love songs or pop songs. So the contestants will change their singing style a bit, and then Simon will give them a hard time about changing and not sticking to what they are.

It will be interesting to see what kind of album the winner will make. I am excited!

Yes - He is VERY one dimensional. American Idol is not just about how well they sing. Sure he can belt out a country western or big band song well, but it's also about how marketable they can be. Chris D. doesn't show personality other then the "Hey look at me glare into the camera with my seething tough guy rocker look".

To me that captures one type of crowd: the "Hey look at me glare into the camera with my seething tough guy rocker look" crowd.

Not implying that he can't sing, just telling it like it is. Other than Kelly Clarkson, where are the past winners now?

That is an excellent point. My wife and I were talking about that last night. But we thought Chris with his rock talent might be a venue where he will shine like Kelly is doing in Pop. I would have to say though Chris is not nearly as talented as Kelly. Remember when they had 40s night and she came out in that white dress with poka dots? She was amazing the way she sang that song. There hasn't been anyone like her since. What do you think? Are any of the contestants on the show now, as talented as Kelly Clarkson?

I want Taylor to win.... I will vote a couple hundred times for him next time around...
A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". Taylor's my #2 choice. I'd be totally happy if he was the Idol.

I've wanted Taylor to win since he first auditioned! Everyone laughed at me for it too. He's just so entertaining to watch...and he actually has a good singing voice! Chris is quite awesome, too. I predict Chris to win it, but I'm pulling for Taylor! biggrin.gif

Don't underestimate the size of the "hey look at me glare into the camera with my seething tough guy rocker look" crowd. It's huge and even includes some middle aged women like me! wub.gif wave.gif

I'd be happy if Chris or Taylor won. I do have a soft spot for Elliott, however. I think he will be voted off next, which makes me sad.
Katharine seems to really popular. Yahoo.com monitors search inquiries, and she is always in the top spot, American Idol wise. I think she's beautiful and has a great voice...but I just haven't caught the "McPheever" yet.

Tuesday's show should be great!
