I've been at the park for the last 2 and a half days and yes, the police (even after the autopsy) say it was an accidental death. Does anyone buy that? No. Do we have to right now? Yes. EVERYONE knows Andre would not kill himself, yet the first news stories out contained suicide was the cause of death. Extreme dishonor. THEN, second and more-heard news stories: autorotica. Everyone keeps hearing the word, and to sum it up in a crude way: getting your jollies off by causing yourself pain or doing something that could kill you and ending before it goes too far. That sounds like a perfect coverup for a story of a teenager in a tree. A teenager who has happy, had no enemies,.. and yet was tied up and strung up 15 feet up in a tree.
Andre Anderson did not do this to himself. That is all we know. The police and news say he did. The Folsom Police Department and News10 as well as CBS13 and KCRA3 all acted with ignorance, intentional invasion of privacy, disregard for people's emotions and feelings, and just plain rudeness on the day he died. The FPD as much as everyone says "they know that they are doing".. i will not say what i saw or heard when i was with them, all i will say is this:
Do NOT for a SECOND, think that the Folsom Police have it all under control. They should know that they are doing. They should know how to handle this situation. I won't say what they said or did to prove to evryone there that they messed up, i'm just going to say that they DID mess up, and bad.
I know all of this is getting all you people excited, so i'm not going to say "stop talking about it", because we all know this town is too ignorant. I love Folsom, as much as all the teenagers say it sucks, we still love it. But everyone needs to realize.. it ain't Pleasantville. Life stil happens in folsom. When you pass that big Welcome to Folsom sign? Drugs don't disappear. Rapes don't disappear. Murder doesn't disappear.
Rest in Paradise Andre, and i'm so, SO sorry that people have to be this low.

Very powerful article! You hear about stuff like this but until you read the article you really don’t understand. Thanks for sharing.
If this is truly what happened, I hope that we can take this horrible tragedy and turn it around to educate our children on this, so that they understand how dangerous it is.
My Son who is a freshman at FHS knew AAA and had never heard of the so-called "choking game." Last night we asked him to take the trash out and he went to his room first which I thought was weird (typically he goes and does what he is told). He went and took the trash out and came back in. He stood in the living room just staring at the wall. I asked him what was wrong and he said that he was scared to take the trash out and that he had taken his pocket knife (this is for fishing) outside with him. He said there was a rumor going around that someone grabbed AAA when he was taking the trash out. I felt horrible that my Son who is 14 was scared to even go outside. I hope that once the police come out and make a statement on what the actual cause of death was and what they believe happened we can put all these rumors to rest.
Last night my Son took me to AAA's myspace page and it broke my heart. I read hundreds of the messages that kids left him. He was lucky to have so many friends that loved him so dearly. My Son and I both cried as we looked through his pictures and read all of the condolences. I have never had a death effect me like this unless it was a family member or close friend. This is truly a tragedy and makes me realize how much we should appreciate what we have!
So please, stop all this bickering and be happy that you are here on this earth living and breathing with the people you love.

"Idunno", quit being so sarcastic and rude. It's disgusting behavior. If your opinion conflicts F500's, then be mature about; have some tact and respect, for crying out loud. Just because people are paranoid and afraid doesn't mean you have to retort with sarcasm that just makes people mad. What good will it do?

Actually, you posted:
"I sure HOPE it was not race related as he is one of very few semi-black kids in the area."
I wonder why you felt the need to state his race as "semi-black"...you could have stopped at "I hope it is not race related"....IMHO...stating a person as "semi-black" IS a racial slur...I believe that you intended to create controversy on this site. He is not "semi" anything...he is a little boy, who is now no longer alive....show some respect!

Did he act alone or were there accomplices? How big a problem is this in our community?
The community needs the answers to these questions.

I meant no disrespect and had no idea it was consider a racial remark- I apologize for that- It was my first post on this matter just after I had talked to his neighbors about what happened- I stated what I thought and add the descriptor to clarify my hope-
I know his parents and also met his cousin at the park last night and hugged to offer condolences.
Again I am sorry if my comment has offended anyone.

I would hope that in light of the ongoing situation and the continued questions that this post will not be deleted or edited by the staff for the above reference..
We are ONE community , we are ONE group of concerned citizens and this information direct from Andre's parents and allowed to be posted by them fits what I have been suggesting- despite the public news reel of the easy way out for the Folsom Police...
the parents seem NOT to fully have accepted that this was an accident...
My heart goes out for Andre and his parents and family...
I will see some of you again n the park again this evening ....

I didn't take that as a racial slur, and I can see where F500 was going with that.
Knowing the history of lynchings in the United States, when a young black man is found hanging from a tree, accidental death isn't the first thing we think of.
As it turns out, the police theory of what happened is supported by numerous articles I've read about this sort of accident.
A cop friend told me that he's been on 6 to 8 calls on such accidents in the past few years. The reason we usually don't hear about them is that it's usually a parent or loved one who finds the victim at home. They call 911, and it doesn't make the news. This vicitim was found in a tree, and the story spread rapidly.
Part of the intent of lynching is to put the body on public display. One would choose a spot, and the type of tree, that would allow maximum visibility. One of our many oak trees, out in the open, would be a most likely spot.
This child was found 15 feet in the air, hidden from normal view by the dense foliage of the redwoods.
It would be nearly impossible for someone to drag or hoist someone up such a tree without a lot of strenght, and without leaving any evidence behind.
This appears to be a tragic accident. The parents have accepted that as fact.
Speculating about cover-ups, conspiracies and murders won't help.

Are you sure about that? Did you read Farley's message regarding his conversation with A's father? Did you speak to the father?

No, I did not speak with the father. Did you?
I saw his father speak, and my daughter knows one of the other kids. I did read Farley's post on the other forum in which he said that father made that statement to stop speculation, but left the door open to the possibility that this was murder. I think I might do the same if I were him, because I'd want to be 100% sure that some murderer wasn't out there.
