It was 1am! I was tired.

You want something unique?

I give you, "Disco Duck"
[DD - Donald Duck voice]
[BS - background singers]
[EP - Elvis voice]

Went to a party the other night
All the ladies were treating me right
Moving my feet to the disco beat
How in the world could I keep my seat

All of a sudden I began to change
I was on the dance floor acting strange
Flapping my arms I began to cluck
Look at me..
I'm the disco duck

[DD:] Ah, get down, mama
I've got to have me a woman, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
[BS:] Disco, disco duck
[DD:] Got to have me a woman
[BS:] Disco, disco duck
[DD:] Oh, get down, mama
[BS:] Try your luck, don't be a cluck, disco
[

Has everyone gone MAD??? Okay, if we are pulling out all the stops here....from my favorite musical....

SILLABUB/JEMIMA
Daylight, see the dew on the sunflower
And a rose that is fading
Roses wither away
Like the sunflower I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day

MUNKUSTRAP
Now Old Deuteronomy, just before dawn
Through a silence you feel you could cut with a knife
Announces the cat who can now be reborn
And come back to a different Jellicle Life

GRIZABELLA
Memory, turn your face to the moonlight
Let your memory lead you
Open up, enter in
And if you find there the meaning of what happiness is
Then a new life will begin

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Burnt out ends of smokey days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over and
Another day is dawning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

SILLABUB/JEMIMA
Sunlight, through the trees in the summer
Endless masquerading
(Grizabella joins her)
Like a flower as the dawn is breaking
The memory is fading

GRIZABELLA
Touch me, it's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory of my days in the sun
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun

Ahh...Andrew Lloyd Webber... wub.gif

Java Jive
Manhattan Transfer, Ink Spots

I do love the Java Jive. I saw the Manhattan Transfer sing that live a couple of times in the early 80's.

Here's a little ditty going out to all you far out, outta sight folks who remember 1970 and all those great tunes sung by fourth graders:

I'm gonna talk about a place that's got a hold on me
Mill Valley
A little place where life feels very fine and free
Mill Valley

Where people arent afraid to smile
and stop and talk to you a while

And you can be as friendly as you want to be
Mill Valley
Talkin bout Mill Valley that's my home

It looks as pretty in the rain as in the sun
Mill Valley
And there's a mountain that belongs to everyone
Mill Valley
And there are creeks that run on endlessly
and trees as far as you can see
It makes you feel as if your life has just begun
Mill Valley
Talking bout Mill Valley California, that's my home

I know there might come a time I'll have to leave Mill Valley
and every good memory will seem like make believe
and all the good things that are mine right now
will call to me and ask me how
I could've left them all behind
How could I leave Mill Valley

Talkin bout Mill Valley
Talking bout Mill Valley California, that's my home

enjoy your weekend D's TK (and by the way, Kim Possible is the third hottest cartoon rehead behing Jessica Rabbit and Ariel)

It's an *okay* coffee song, but if you want a *classic* truly great coffee song, you gotta go with the Sinatra, man:

Way down among Brazilians
Coffee beans grow by the billions
So they've got to find those extra cups to fill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

You can't get cherry soda
'Cause they've got to fill that quota
And the way things are I'll bet they never will
They've got a zillion tons of coffee in Brazil

No tea or tomato juice
You'll see no potato juice
The planters down in Santos all say no no no

A politician's daughter
Was accused of drinking water
And was fined a great big fifty dollar bill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

You date a girl and find out later
She smells just like a percolator
Her perfume was made right on the grill
Why they could percolate the ocean in Brazil

And when their ham and eggs need savor
Coffee ketchup gives 'em flavor
Coffee pickles way outsell the dill
Why they put coffee in the coffee in Brazil

So you'll add to the local color
Serving coffee with a cruller
Dunkin' doesn't take a lot of skill
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil

"Here's the last toast of the evening: Here's to those who still believe. All the losers will be winners, all the givers will receive. Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small. Here's to the losers: bless them all
Sinatra "Here's to the Losers"

On a bright and boring summer cubicle Friday at work- I start getting edgy. That's when the country starts calling me. smile.gif

All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight

-----Hank Williams Jr.

I got ketchup on my blue jeans, I just burnt my hand.
Lord, its hard to be a bachelor man.
I got girls that can cook, I got girls that can clean,
I got girls that can do anything in between.
I got to get ready, make everything right,
'cause all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight.

Do you want a drink. Hey do you want to party.
Hey honey this is ole Hank. Ready to get the thing started.
We cooked the pig in the ground, got some beer on ice
And all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight.

Now my party pad is out in the woods
Its long, long way from here to Hollywood,
But I got some natural queens out on the floor
And ole Miss Mississippi just walked through the door.
Got a little wirlpool just made for ten,
And you can jump out and you can jump in.
You can do anything that you want to do,
But uh uhh, don't you step on my cowboy boots.

Do you want to drink. Hey do you want to party.
Hey this is ole Hank. Ready to get your summer started.
I cooked a pig in the ground, we got some beer on ice
And all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight.
Do you want to drink, hey do you want to party.
Hey hey this is rock'n Randall Hank, ready to get the summer time started.
We cooked the pig in the ground, we got some beer on ice,
All my rowdy friends are coming over tonight.
Thats right. Come on in!

Hard to pick *my* favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber lyric, but I guess I gotta go with:

What then to do about this Jesus-mania?
How do we deal with a carpenter king?
Where do we start with a man who is bigger
than John was when John did his Baptism thing?

Okay, back to the subject, here are some other lyrics I actually like, even though they're from dopey novelty songs from my childhood:

And with all of his strength he gave a mighty shove
Then a miner yelled out "There's a light up above!"
And twenty men scrambled from a would-be grave
Now there's only one left down there to save
"Big John"

That famous day in history the men of the 7th Cavalry went riding on
And from the rear a voice was heard
A brave young man with a trembling word rang loud and clear
What am I doin' here??
"Please Mr. Custer"

Dearest Faddah, Darling Muddah,
How's My Precious Little Bruddah?
Let Me Come Home, If You Miss Me
I Would Even Let Aunt Bertha Hug and Kiss Me.
"Camp Grenada"

"Here's the last toast of the evening: Here's to those who still believe. All the losers will be winners, all the givers will receive. Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small. Here's to the losers: bless them all

Oh, and the best line from any song ever in the entire history of music history ever written ever, and if you don't believe it there's something seriously wrong with you?

"I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die"

"Here's the last toast of the evening: Here's to those who still believe. All the losers will be winners, all the givers will receive. Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small. Here's to the losers: bless them all

Huh-that reminds me of the bologne song for some reason.

Also the mayonaise song.

and the cute hot dog song.

and lets not forget the kool aid song.

Oh-dear I think I forgot to go to lunch again today. Aw well.

My alltime favorite line is from David Gilmour's solo song "Murder":

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head,
Do you now miss them and the thing that they said.

Well...while I was watching my younger boy graduate from FMS today, you have all been some busy little bee's! Now I have fallen behind! I hate when that happens!

Okay, first things first....I can't BELIEVE that Kim Possible comes in a measley third after those other two red-headed, hoochie-mama's! She is still number one in my book! I totally love her...but only as a friend laugh.gif My eight year old niece and I love to cuddle up during her visits to my house and watch Kim Possible do her saving the world thing...she's awesome! And Ron Stopable and his little hairless, hamster-type, pet-thingy...well, that's just to funny!!! loco.gif

That movie was so twisted...gave me nightmares!!! Killing cartoon characters by dunking them in acid....ugh!!! But I do love the classic line by Jessica Rabbit...

"I'm not bad...I'm just drawn that way." CLASSIC!
