Going with the flow of traffic is one thing, out right driving balls out as fast as you can racing or even driving solo is completely different and its wreckless and dangerous.

If your actions show gross negligence, disregard for your safety and the safety of others, public exhibition of speed and you are reckless, then yes.

Whoa, 007, you're being entirely too reasonable and rational here. How dare you !!! Don't expect some people to "get it", though. They'll just argue for the sake of arguing.

I think she was attempting to equate a driver during rush hour traffic, (allegedly) obeying traffic laws, not having enough time to stop for a pedestrian who (allegedly) illegally steps out in front of him to two teenagers who are (allegedly) street racing and slam into and kill a woman who was trying to (allegedly) legally pull out of a parking lot.
I could be wrong though.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

If that were true, then I think the parents of those boys would be fighting tooth and nail to get the charges dropped. The fact that they are pleading guilty would indicate otherwise.
How do you have access to that video? Can you post it so we can see it to?
I think you'd have a lot more people on the side of the kids if video shows her speeding, driving recklessly, and pulling out in front of speeding cars that were in plain view.
The video has been talked about many times by me, idunno and now stuney. The video shows her behavior and the boys cars just before the accident.
The boys could plead not guilty based on her actions and that she pulled out in front of them causing the accident. The judge would then tell the boys that she is not the one on trial today and we are only here to look at your actions.
In which case the boys were speeding and are guilty. We get that out of the way and we move on to the "punishment" phase of the case.
Except that, there is no punishment phase in the juvenile court system it is only set-up for rehabilitation.
The judge will basically be given two choices by the lawyers:
1) The DA is asking for 3 years in CYA.
2) The Boys lawyers will be asking for an alternative sentence.
CYA is set-up for violent and repeat offenders. The boys do not qualify for this based on their lack of a prior record.
First time juvenile offenders are supposed to get rehabilitation. This could include Boys Ranch, community service, additional house arrest, no driving etc....
The boys lawyers will show that she shares a % of the responsibility for the accident at this time, plus the boys have a clean prior record, and they have already served 10 months in custody at Juvenile hall and through house arrest with a perfect record. All of this should lead to the lighter sentence.
The DA will then explain his position to the judge.
The judge is an elected official and understands that this is a high profile case and that the public wants blood and they want a tough verdict and he might give it to them.
However, the guidelines for the Juvenile system require a light sentence based on the event and the boys past record.
Let's keep sharing our opinions in a friendly way, but soon it will be left to one juvenile court judge to have the final say.
