Didn't double park in the crosswalk, but in front of the red zone at the school. And, it actually wasn't double parking, it was triple parking. There was a car parked in the red zone, a stopped car next to it in the right lane and this guy took his big arse truck and planted it in the middle of the street.

They're hammering the middle and high schools right now. Elementary schools are next.

did ya yell at him or at least bust out the 2x4 thumper?
idiots like that should not get away with that crap - he's a prime candidate to post about as a bad driver with a photo of his tank - to serve as warnings to others. hey it could save lives!
actually it'd be better if we could put stickers on those cars that say "WARNING: BAD DRIVER"

I think that that is because you are commiting a crime by holding a law officer away from other potentially dangerous situations where law officers presence is actually needed.
That's what I meant. Maybe my post wasn't clear enough.
BTW; there is absolutely no law from putting people's license plates on public websites; as license plates are public property for identification of vehicles (not people). Otherwise, you would not be breaking a law by refusing to display your license plate on your vehicle.
Why do you see on some TV programs they have blurred out license plates then?
I'm thinking the only way something like this would work is if you could post an obvious picture of a traffic infraction. A still picture can't show someone speeding and it just becomes the poster's word against the alleged violater's word.
For example, someone could have snapped a shot of my car with brakelights on not moving on a green this morning, but what it might not show is I was waiting for a middle-schooler to cross on his bike so I could make a right. I guess the jerk that honked at me would post the picture of "The stupid lady that didn't go on green." Really wanted to give the special finger salute to their honk but didn't want to do it with my kid in the car.
Another thought that comes to mind is all this picture-taking and license-jotting might just cause an accident and be as dangerous as cell phone use while driving.

It's one of those things that's a great idea in theory, but execution may be a little hard to do.

I bet plenty of people who post on here:
- speed
- floor it through yellows
- drive like idiots when dropping their kids off at school
- park all the way around street corners blocking the crosswalk
- think traffic safety, laws and courtesy doesn't apply to them

Word of mouth for something like this in this town will spread it in a week.
