I would give them a 10 if it wasn't for the location. That old run down parking lot and liqour stores located on each side of them can't really help business. That area shure could use a facelift. They did a great job with the inside though....Those ceiling fans can really start to mess with your mind if you've had a few to many brews

I'm going to be forced to get over my reticence of entering an establishment that took over the only fish joint in town.
I hope they do better than the last owners.

You can always go down the fabulous Big Dip and get "Fish Dhips Bur Ger"

First the ambiance is outstanding Brent and Dave did a fantastic job of remodeling. To say the outdoor bathrooms are a suprise is an understatement. I was kind of worried about going in there and was thrilled that those bathrooms are as nice as they are. The bar is really nice and it's fun to sit there and check out all the beers.
The service, again is outstanding. We chatted with Dave and Desiree (one of the waitresses) while we sat there, tried several beers before making our selections and then chatted with Brent for a while before he left for the day.
I can't say a negative thing about the food. Being a bit of a food snob I was impressed with the fries, the lobster/corn chowder (probably the best chowder I've ever had) and the Korean beef. But the item that took the cake (Literally) was the dessert which Desiree described as a deep fried cheesecake. Neither me nor my date are big fans of cheesecake but we decided to give it a try and I just about licked the plate clean. That dessert is that fantastic.
Now on to the beverages...first the wine, we tried the Steele Chardonnay (reminiscent of Rombauer), the Peachy Canyon Zin (a little thin for my taste) and the Pedroncelli Petite Syrah (a nice, drinkable wine)
Now it's beer time....and oh did we have some fun with this.
The Alagash White and the Chimay White were good, but I needed a litte more substance. Desiree suggested a beer not on the menu (and I can't remember the name) and that really hit the spot. My date tried the Murphy Stout and the Maredsous and proceeded to have 2 Maredsous, our dining partners tried the Brother T and didn't try anything else because they liked it so much. I then tried the Arrogant Bastard Oaked and fell in love (I have always been a sucker for arrogant bastards), my date had the Old Rasputin and loved it.
All in all a fantastic place that I've already been telling all my friends about. The fact that it's locally owned makes it even better.
Thanks Dave & Brent for bringing this little gem to Folsom!

Why are they serving alcohol at lunch hour?

We went after work to watch the Kings game...there were 4 of us, when I say we tried I meant we had samples of the beers. I had 2 beers, and the guys had the rest. I was there for about 3 hours so I think I was okay to drive.

Exactly, and all restaurants will serve alcohol as long as they're open. Why wouldn't they?
And not to make myself sound like an alcoholic or anything but isn't that a beautiful thing? I could never live in the south just for the fact that bars aren't open on Sundays until after 3 and the first football game and a good bloody mary generally starts at 10.

You can't buy alcohol in Indiana on Sundays (or at least you couldn't when I lived in the midwest) and that's a pain when you're hanging out on a boat over a 3-day weekend.
You can't buy liquor after 9pm in Wisconsin, unless you purchase it "to go" from a bar. Pain in the butt. Wait, there's one place in the whole state that you can, and is it just coincidence that it's at the liquor store closest to the Gov's Mansion?

Outstanding review of Manderes Patty!
I took my wife there for a late lunch today - I just can't ever say enough how great that place is - its become one of my favorite places to go in town now.

I could never live there or in the south - that drives me nuts that they don't allow drinking on certain days and all that other bs - it sucks that they are so controlled down there - its like not being in America anymore

I have a lot of relatives in the Mid-West and I used to hear stories about them driving out of Iowa over the border into Illinois on Sunday just to get Busch Light. Now that's what I call dedication.

And this was probably when Iowa beer was "near-beer" with 3.2% alcohol content.
