Do you people have any idea how good you have it? I'm from Phoenix and have a bud from Chicago, at dinner tonight we were comparing weather horror stories. Sacramento is paradise. It only rains just enough, the weather is not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter. The only complaint I have is the smoke.

The smokers at the outlets bug you too? Damn that light rail!

I lived in the Seattle area most of my life. I love the weather down here. Even though it rains I know that eventually it will stop.

Hey, I'm not complaining about the weather, I've lived here for almost 15 years. After living in Boston for 30+. Spent plenty of time near Phoenix as well, where we'd roshambo for who had to run out from the lobby, open the car door with an oven mitt, turn the car and the AC on and run back to the lobby while the rest of us waited.

Bay Area weather is nicer, but you've got a whole different set of problems down there.

Just saying, I'm not too thrilled with getting dressed and walking around outside in the more extreme summer and winter weather to shop. Just my preference to be indoors in conditioned air year round.

I moved here for the weather. Outdoor shopping sounds preferable to me.

I wouldnt mind a pf changs or the return of pei wei. I'm okay with folsoms selection of asian restaurants, but I still go to roseville to eat at changs now and then.

I wouldnt mind a sears. I end up at sunrise or roseville to go to one of those.

I'd really like a seafood restaurant besides Scotts. I liked the little one over by Kohls, since it was a little less formal. They were just too close to scotts, had too many of the same dishes and were at the same price points to make it.

I'd like a good fish and chips place. I tried Big dip a couple of times, the old yagers and that english pub on bidwell. Mushy, oily, overbreaded fish and undercooked french fries every time.

Unfortunately, 90% of what they're planning on putting into palladio is of absolutely no use to me whatsoever, and an outdoor mall in an area where its 100 degrees out for 3 months and 50 with pouring ran another 4 months doesnt seem like that good of an idea.

There's a new fish and chips place going in where Great Wraps used to be, next to the new Thai place where Express Gourmet used to be.

the only things I'd like to see opened in Palladio would be things we don't already have in Folsom that would keep buyers currently going to Roseville to shop staying here and leaving their tax dollars in our community. Other stores/retail/restaurant I see as competition to the existing commercial, which would lead to increased vacant buildings.

Surprisingly, I know exactly where that is! I'll try it.

Its such an incredibly easy dish to make, and I've never had trouble finding decent fish and chips. But not here, at least not lately.

The place that used to be where manderes is now was decent up until a couple of years ago, then they got really bad.

I'll have to check it out at Scotts. The place that used to be next to kohls was good, and I've had decent fish and chips at Fins, but they're not nearby.

We need someplace to buy decent clothes and shoes. When I think about what I go to Roseville for, it's always clothes (mine or kids), Crate n Barrel, and night out dinner places - Paul Martin's is our fave. I also sometimes just enjoy walking around the Galleria and checking things out. Their food court is good, and it's nice to get a coffee and let the kids play in the play area.

I always feel like Folsom kind of has second-rate chains (both food and retail), with just a few exceptions.

I would agree with this. Now, can you tell me why you prefer the Galleria to the Fountains center across the street?

I have actually only driven through the Fountains, so I can't say. I think it's just because I had to go to the Galleria and we just don't ever have time for both. I am meeting a friend for a burger at the Fountains next week, so we'll see.

I'm definitely not opposed to outdoor malls. I always liked K Street better than Arden, back when I lived out there. The main reason I don't like the outdoor ones (outlets) is the smokers. However, being a VERY wimpy CA native, I don't outdoor shop in super hot or rainy weather.

there you go. its simple fact. This is how most people feel. me too. women do most of the shopping in our economy and they want to do it quickly, comfortably and conveniently. Fountains is a drive through mall and I don't think it will succeed in the long run, at least not on the same level as the Galleria.

I hear you about the shopping. I like Kohls, but it seems like the only place to shop. It would be nice to have a better selection for shopping for woman's clothing. Also I always wondered why we didn't have our own Toys R Us with all the kids in Folsom.

I forget what the anchor stores are going to be at Palladio, but I just remember that they were not "real" anchor stores, like Macy's or a big department store.
