Oh well hell, If your taking requests Tom then have I got a WORLD CLASS hot dog for you!
Icelandic Pylsur!!!! It's made with Icelandic Lamb (the finest in the world). It's got quite a snap to it and the toppings really make the dog an awesome experience. They include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and a mayonnaise-based remoulade sauce with sweet relish. You MUST order this with the works .....or as Icelanders call it " "eina meğ öllu".

Seriously good eats!

..........but I digress unsure.gif

c_vanderveen, am I a movie geek for knowing exactly where this quote comes from?

During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg. Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor. Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you.

I went on Friday for a beef (as it's called in Chicago). I was unimpressed with their delivery. sniff sniff. There needs to be a lot more meat on the sandwich! It is not supposed to taste like bun and Giardiniera. This is how it's supposed to look:

Went to Urban Dog for third time yesterday. I've now had the Chicago dog, Buffalo dog and Barbie Dog.

All three were excellent. This place serves good food at decent prices.

Just ordered the Govna for lunch, Mmm, Mmm, Good.

They offer 6,10, & 20 packs to go, I wonder how much business they will get for "to go" on Superbowl Sunday.

Went today for the first time. I was excited to try it but disappointed. I got the Balboa, which was decent. However I waited 30 minutes(!) to get my food and then the fries were both cold and overcooked at the same time (wasn't sure that was possible!) 8 bucks and change; I'm not sure I will be back.

Went again today. Food was ready within about five minutes and all of our meals were delicious.

I'm disappointed they're no longer carrying the Vienna Beef Italian Beef sandwiches. I have a Chicago recipe and am planning to make it soon. I was researching recipes to make the Giardiniera and was pleased to see Urban Dog selling the Vienna brand today. I might make it from scratch some time, but this will work out great.

That's a bummer, but I'm not surprised. They weren't that good and were just pale imitations of a true Chicago Italian Beef. Just had Portillo's this past weekend -- THAT'S what a real beef is all about!

My husband liked those Italian Beef sandwiches too. But he says the ones from Dominicks are pretty good as well.
