There are two that I know of. One is in the Safeway shopping center on Prairie City and one in the Save Mart shopping center on Blue Ravine and E Bidwell.

Thank you to you and Jolene for responding. I went to the one by Savemart.

Hi Jolene,

That is such great news.

Jessica, you keep on wiggling those cute little toes.

Getting ready for a big show, business travel, screw ups with hotel reservations etc had pushed this topic out of my mind. Now that things are getting back to normal for me workwise, I got to thinking I hadn't heard about Jessica in quite awhile. I don't do Facebook, and I guess that is where Jolene does most of her updating.

So anyone have any new updates on little Jessica?

I don't presume to speak for Jolene, but based on her Facebook updates, I think I can summarize that this was (and is) a really serious head injury. I believe it's about 4-5 weeks past the accident, and Jessica is still hospitalized. She is beginning to be responsive but is not talking, walking, or eating on her own yet (she has a feeding tube in her stomach). Jolene has been working tirelessly to provide stimulation (pictures, smells, etc.) that will help bring her back. It seems that Jessica will receive some pretty intensive therapy over the next few weeks and months.

Even for those of us that only know Jolene through Facebook, our hearts are with Jolene and Jessica...

I don't know anything new. I do know that with BarbJ's help we hope to have a pancake breakfast fundraiser for her. We are working out the details. We did one for Cassidy through her softball team/league and they raised $3,000. Everybit helps. Insurance isn't enough anymore.

Thanks for the info. I know this will be a long road of recovery, but I gather the good news is we are now past the "will she survive" mode and now we are into the long recovery phase. My heart goes out to Jolene, Jessica, and the family and I hope for the best recovery possible.

Thanks to BillZ for the inquiry and to BCF for summing up so well. That is basically where things are at. We went from UCD ICU to Kaiser ICU to the regular Pediatric Floor at Kaiser and now we are back at UCD to determine whether full-blown rehab is appropriate right now, or if we should go home first to progress a little bit more before using up our "days" in rehab before appropriate. The docs and therapists will have a case conference tomorrow and I am thinking that we will be told that we will be discharged soon.

This is both good and bad. Bad because, OF COURSE, I want them to see the potential in her to recover right now now now, but good because if she is not at that place, then it will be really good to get home, to a place where she is familiar surroundings, our entire family will be back together again and we can work on getting her better in her own time frame.

We have no doubt that she will come back to us. The hardest part, of course, is being patient. But we will. She's worth the wait.

And yes, I am updating at Facebook, and it is a public page. You do not have to have a Facebook account to read the updates. The page is here.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support. It is definitely a long road. Having people behind us means the world to us.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

Jolene, physical therapists are usually pretty good at doling out the PT appointments to maximize what an insurance company will give you. If they decide to not go full scale into PT right now, I'm guessing they will give you exercises you can do at home to help get Jessica to the point they can start "official" PT. Either way, it is a joy to read about Jessica's progress. Yes, she has a bit of a journey ahead of her, but my oh my how far she's come.
