Where the heck did people come up with the idea that girls offer sex for good grades, and show their tits in school all the time?

It was reported by a FHS teacher.

Hmm, interesting. Did this FHS teacher report this student, or the others that apparently did this to him? I wonder, really, because that is not the norm for FHS. If this behavior has been rampant, as suggested, then how come I have not seen or heard about girls being suspended or expelled for this? I dont quite understand this claim...

No one has suggested that the norm at FHS is girls offering up themselves in exchange for a good mark. That was mentioned as an isolated experience. However, if you read the thread carefully there has been a great deal of discussion about the double standard that exists at the high and middle schools between boys and girls poor behavior/choices.

The girls are not getting expelled or suspended and this is outrageous to people with common sense.

Plea deal in teacher sex case

In a case that has attracted worldwide attention, Margaret De Barraicua, the McClatchy High intern teacher arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old special-education student, agreed to a plea bargain Wednesday that carries a punishment ranging from probation to 16 months in prison.

What a gross double-standard. If the sexes were reversed, theres no way a man could plea and get only 16 months... thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Absolutely a double standard. Let's see if the Folsom teacher case pans out similarly.

Anyone else catch the "lawsuit" part in the paper about this woman? See how opportunistic these types of cases are. The boy didn't even want to press charges and/or wouldn't show up in court to testify against the woman but yet a lawsuit "was filed on behalf of the boy and his parents".

True 'dat. In our culture this crime (women preying on boys) is actually viewed as more the subject of every Porky's movie ever made than a real crime.

People can dither about the age of consent and such, but it seems to me that in this case the exploitation is actually made even more nefarious because the boy was mentally handicapped. And the whole "boo hoo, have mercy on me because I'm a single parent" defense falls flat for me. Yeah lady, we've seen how well you do with kids in the past. dry.gif
