Katherine and Taylor were comical, not in a good way.

Other than Kelly Clarkson, where are the past winners now?
Well, I keep hearing that the blond country chick (what was her name? Carrie Underwood?) is making the rounds. I've seen signs posted on the side of 80 saying she's going to be singing at the Dixon Fair.

It's hard to sing Elvis without sounding hokey.
Katherine and Taylor were comical, not in a good way.
Very true. Last nights show was not that great. I really like Katherine's voice best but those were not good songs for her.
Taylor's first song was hilarious but his second one was pretty darn good
Elliot would make a good Michael Buble' cover artist but I think he's going to be gone soon
Chris did ok but I wasn't "wow'd" by anyone's performances last night - cept for Taylors song "In the Ghetto"
I did think that was very cool they worked with Tommy Motola - he's one of the greatest producers ever
and good grief what the heck did Priscilla Presley do to her face? Ack its looking as bad as Michael Jackson - whatever happened to aging gracefully? she looks terrible now and she used to be very beautiful

She and Kenny Rogers must have the same Plastic Surgeon......

I think Kat SHOULD go home tonight.....
Elliott did really, really well, but he just doesn't have the WOW factor.
I would love to see Chris and Taylor in the Finals........

Taylor is adorable and has a lovely voice -- but I just don't see how he can be a pop star. He is too goofy and un-sexy. Teddy-bear types don't become pop stars!
Elliot is the classic guy who lived upstairs in the dorm who was "like a brother" to all the girls. Everyone loves him because he is sweet and cute and you can cry on his shoulder when your real boyfriend breaks up with you-- but no one thinks of him as sexy. Again, not pop star material.
That leaves Chris and Katherine. Both of them have great voices and they are hot.
As we draw toward the finale, I think we will see Simon increasingly "dissing" Taylor and Elliot. He is going to be worried about future albums and future revenues-- he won't want to make the Ruben Stoddard mistake twice.
By the way, my favorite is Taylor. Hey, I like teddy bears with soothing voices... but I'm not out there buying albums, either.

I loved, loved, loved Elliott's second song, but I'm a sucker for blues. I thought he did a great job. Second favorite was Taylor's "In the Ghetto" for similar reasons. I did like the dynamics in Chris' second song. While Katherine showed that she has a great voice, she can't do the upbeat songs without looking completely out of place. I think she's the one going home tomorrow.
Every week they tell the contestants not to pick songs that the greats have done because you can't help but to be compared to them. Why, then, did they pick Elvis? Come on! You can't do an Elvis song without being compared. The Fine Young Cannibals came closest which is why I found myself thinking of that song during Chris' performance. That said, I liked it as Elvis is the man. I did a pilgrimage to Graceland 10 years ago and it made me remember how cool it was.

Not really on-topic, but, have you ever noticed that when someone talks about going to visit Graceland, it's always a 'pilgrimage'? Is it just me?

I hope to make that pilgrimage someday

Yep. When you go, don't forget to go to Sun Studios. That's where all the magic happened.

Ha! I saw that too!
I guess you're right. I don't particularly care for Country Music, but she is pretty famous around them parts.
