And now for another shameless plug for Manderes:

They have a few beers with an alcohol content of 8% and 9% and maybe some with more! Yiippppeee.

I think the "No Crap on Tap" tagline might have a worthy opponent "Ain't No Near-Beer served Here"

they have the BEST beer selection I've ever seen and I've been around...

Try the Thelonious Monk beer sometime - that one is a doozy

another really great (powerful) one is Brown Sugar, its a sweet dark beer that is about 9% and packs one helluva whollop - don't have more then one unless someone else is driving

I'll be eating at the bar at noon if anyone cares to join me. I need to try the hoagie thing.

I might try and pop down there for lunch. I'll be the guy with the little green speak'n'spell wondering why he can't get on Manderes wireless...

Do they take reservations, or are they necessary on a Friday night? We just secured our babysitter (for 2/1 - her first available night) so we are planning a trip to Manderes. Wahoo!

It better be good after how great everyone has made it sounds. smile.gif

I don't think they take reservations.

Now, don't expect TOO much. It's just a small fun joint with pretty good food, lots of beer, and friendly folks.

I went. Nice place. Huge improvement over the fish 'n chips place. Had the steak salad because of the whole trying to lose weight thing. It was excellent. Really wanted the lobster chowder though.

In case anyone is interested. Even before it was a fish 'n chips, Dairy Queen, Teriyaki and Pioneer chicken, it used to be a gas station, which would explain the outdoors restrooms.

They've done wonders with the interior.

I see a coupon in the Folsom Family Values Magazine...
Buy-one-get-one-free meal opportunity with the purchase of two beverages...
Good excuse to go more.

Event this week:

"Come join us and sample some of the top rated Belgian style beers. This event include tapas and other small sample plates from our restaurant. We have a full food menu so plan to have dinner at Manderes, as well, if you so desire. $18.50 per person reservations recommended (limited seating)."
