So just what ARE you saying about how gays come into being ?

Are you suggesting that it is NOT a genetic link ?

I see what you said about the "identical twins" and your recent reponse...

So tell me - how do YOU think a gay person gets that way ?

Cheers

I think it's the age old question "nature or nurture". I wonder if you cloned a gay person, if they to would be gay? Then again, I'm not sure people need to be playing "God" to that extent. I have no issues with whether one is gay or not. Rather, and I've said this many times, I do have issues with a person essentially screaming "I'm different, I don't wanted to be treated differently, I want the same rights as anyone else, oh but by the way I also want special legislation to afford me greater protection from criminals, harassment, etc..
We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

Now there's an interesting question, Jafount. You go get a DNA sample (I won't ask how) and I'll go find a cloner.

There's the irony, and it works that way for so many groups (feminists, gays, racial minorities, etc.)
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

Maybe it has to do with one's fashion sense, or softball.

I believe that people are born gay, and some choose to be gay.

Personally, I would not have chosen to be gay (why did you come out after so many years of being a 'normal' man?). In previous posts, I said that I came out before freshmen year started. I also knew that I wasn't like the other boys in my class when we split into boys/girls for our first sex ed class and the teacher was talking about how babies are made and that boys are supposed to be attracted to girls.

However, I know some lesbians who were abused by men before and do not feel comfortable enough to be in a heterosexual relationship anymore so they have become lesbians. I also know of some gay friends of mine that weren't having any luck with girls so they decided that they would try being gay to see if they can get the companionship they wanted.

I also believe that people can change their behavior if they want to or you subject them to extreme methods of "therapy" (electricuting sensitive areas when they respond to certain images, submerging into tubs of ice, etc).

The problem I have when it comes to the "ex-gay" movement is that they want ALL GAY PEOPLE to be like them. I do not tell everyone that they need to be gay, and that the only happy life there is for a person is a gay life. So, I have an issue when they tell me that I need to be straight in order to be happy.

You're right. Let's revert back to 1776 and re-instate those laws. Only citizen is a white male, blacks are only 1/3 of a person, and women have no rights.

What were we thinking when we began to take "all men are created equal" literally? I'm sorry, I'll head back to China, unless you want to lower me down on a rope with a stick of dynamite to help build a tunnel for a train.

Or better yet, round us all up and place us into internment camps, and be cautious about sitting in the same area in a restaurant with me cuz being a racial minority bad. Should I not apply for jobs anymore since Irish and dogs are not wanted?

Should we start up the witch hunt again and burn people at the stake for not believing in the same religion as you? If so, would you rather me be drowned, burned alive, or hung?

Swmr, you take jafount's reasonable argument and then distort and extrapolate it into something ridiculous in your attempt to discount the validity of the argument.

In the end, jafount's argument remains the same, but your reasoning and rebuttal looks ridiculous. Some might say this is another demonstration of your tendancy to be overdramatic.

And, since you tried to make your point in this way it leads us to think you can not offer a counterpoint that is reasonable.

I'm going to use my often used skill of rambling around an issue without ever answering the question at hand in hopes to confuse and disorient you to the point where you will be satisifed that I addressed your question by quoting it without actually giving you an objective answer because I really didn't fully understand your question, nor do I have the ability to give the question a justifiable answer. I will however skirt the issue by bringing up topics that have no actual relavence to the question at hand, but make me look smarter than I actually am on the original topic at hand, buy bringing up afforementioned topics that have no relavence I do tend to fill up space with a tremendous amount of words, thus showing my prolific typing ability and also not answering the question at hand because I now have you so confused as to what your question was I have even forgotten what your question was and I am now so confused I don't even know what the question was that I'm rambling on about not answering.

VERY GOOD RESPONSE !!!! +1

It is kind of like - what is it that you said about what I said that makes me think what you said has nothing to do with what I said... and you said it just so you could say something about what no one said ...

Nothing wrong with softball. Yes there are a lot of gay/bi women who play. I know I played till I was 19.

Nothing wrong with whom you choose to be intimate with...Just don't expect to have your choice been seen with open arms or that you should be treated the same when your choice is clearly different.

I personally find it gross to see two men kissing and even worse when my 3 year old neice witnesses it. The unfortunate thing with that is I cannot sugarcoat that situation. She is much too smart for her age and she said, "EeewwwHHH!!!They are kissing because they love eachother like boyfriends and girlfriends. Like Mama Monkey and Papa monkey. That's gross...boys are not suposed to kiss." Her exact words...At her age of three it's hard to explain to her what is right and what is wrong mainly because I myself do not know that answer. If I based it off of what they bible says then homosexuality is wrong but then again many of my life situations do not follow the bible...so that would make many people including myself hypocrites. So do I then tell her it's okay because they love eachother? I lied to her (which I hate to do) and said "They are friends and friends give kisses..." She replied with "Friends don't kiss like movie kisses though." (She calls long loving frech kissing "movie" kisses like on Shrek)...I just told her "ok silly" and I changed the subject.

This is hard on me. I want to make sure what I say I right...but what is...no one knows and all I know is there will be a time when the change of subject will no longer work...Probably in a year or so...She is the question monster...not cookie...question!!!

Why can't we learn to just live...NOT BY SHOVING YOUR SEXUALITY DOWN MY THROAT and I will do the same...PDA is fine within reason but my goodness sometimes people just need realize that other people are around...Oh yeah and live for something more than what hole you play in!!! Take that as you will...evil yes...How I feel, absolutely...You are more of a person than just sex...right?

I really think you've got issues. Is there nothing you do not over dramatize? Your response doesn't even make sense, it's totally irrelevant. You're so far out in left field that all one can do is go into a blank-stare while shaking their head left-to-right. Focus, dude, focus...
