QUOTE(MsTeaz @ Sep 13 2005, 04:25 PM)
I recall during my graduate studies a discussion which has since opened my eyes to the sort of people I choose associate with in life and call my friends.  The question posed was "Are all actions in life done out of self gratification and/or survival or does there truly exist acts which are done without any selfish rewards?"  I recall talking in depth about acts of kindness such as a person pulling another person out of a flaming building whereby they are in turn putting themselves in the path of danger to help out another.  Some may say this is simply a courageous person (is courage a term given to an individual who gets satisfaction from selfless acts?) ...  Others may believe that the hero would never have been able to live life without the constant thought of leaving someone to burn...  There are many schools of thought; however, I honestly believe in my heart that there are good people in this world (as well as there are bad).  Accordingly, anyone who really has taken the time to meet Misty and I know that we get a lot of self satisfaction from making others happy.  Moreover, we were making a lot more money with a less stress in our previous jobs; however, we are very social people, and we are both very giving so we love what we’re now doing (and have done).  We really enjoy seeing and sharing in the smiles that our store brings.  We’ve found we do not have a lot of time for negative people as we've learned that it is extremely difficult to share with them the happiness and energy that exists in caring for and enjoying others (Ebenezer Scrooge was one of the few able to cross over and see the light as Charles Dickens was so famous for sharing with us).  There are some who will unfortunately never really Get IT and waste needless energy from their limited time of this earth making certain others know of their disappointment with life.  Fortunately, there are so many how really do Get IT, and we’ve enjoyed meeting each and every one of you.

We've been informed by our representation that the city has also tried to apply a statue of limitation (90 days) - stating that we're are out of time and out of luck with our case. For having a solid case, we have to wonder why they've gone to this lowly defense at the last moment. Fortunately, we did submit in time and our attorney has found much case law proving that there is no statue applying to first amendment rights. What will be of interest to the press when we return is that if we were to loose - what we have been selling in the form of novelty straws, veils and such for wedding parties (we've since added at the request of customers nearly 3 months back which we've all seen at wedding parties) the city has not policed since we are in litagation (breaking their own ordinance as they know we have these items); interesting enough - we have had no problems what so ever as everyone was made to believe as the councel lead everyone to believe (bad people coming to Folsom to cause trouble while purchasing things for their wedding and pre-parties) . There are many other merchants on these street who have confided in us that they too have items which would cause them to be cited. Honestly, the ordinance came about interesting enough right in line with the city elections - things becoming more clear? We will appeal if need be, however. Wish us luck - do keep an eye on the media as we will be opening up more after the hearing.

So... you're admitting that you have items for sale in violation of the city ordinance??

Glad to know you're being respectful of the community and its rules...

Sounds like Ms. Teaz is the neighborhood bully.

If you don't like the rules, don't come to the game. Or, go through the proper process to have the rules changed.

Naw, that's not a correct assessment, 500. Maybe we don't like them pushing at the city, forcing expenditure of fees (our tax dollars) just so they can make a point and WAH! WAH! WAH! have their way. This whole thing is them crying about the city's attitude and creating a fuss over it that, LO AND BEHOLD!, keeps them in the news. If their ability to stay on the front page reflects on their ability to do business, they'll probably remain on Sutter for awhile to come.

Actually, that may be the problem. If their business was doing that well, they wouldn't have the time to spend in court. I think in a year, Ms. Teaz will have vacated the premises.

Actually, November6th will be my one year Anniversary. Spending three hours in the courthouse has no effect on our business other than we are fighting for our First Amendment Rights as Americans. Ms Teaz is is doing wonderful and is not close to going anywhere. Sorry to burst your bubble Terry! smile.gif You arent a gambling man are you wink.gif

What a Great Job and what a blast Ms Teaz Sponsored (9/23/05)!
Exclusive Mo Mo Lounge Fashion Show 1

Exclusive Mo Mo Lounge Fashion Show 2

Exclusive Mo Mo Lounge Fashion Show 3

I've seen the items that are questionable at Ms Teaz too - OH My god!! They are selling Penis straws, Furry hand cuffs, joke gadgets and so many other items that can be used for parties that are definitely regulated by the ordinance. They really should be sent to jail for life! God have mercy on their souls!!! Amen!!

Get real people! Get off your high horses! This store is HOT and only getting more popular beyond the boarders of Sacto Valley only because there are a few very conservative NEO NATZI parties running about in Folsom.
