(Washington) Tuesday marks National Coming Out Day, but events are planned throughout the week in many communities nationwide, with the theme this year: 'Talk About It'.
"Talk About It,” encourages gays to talk openly and honestly about their lives and the inequalities gay , lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans face under law .
“Every single time we talk about it , we are one step closer to equality,” Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese told 365Gay.com
“Each word helps build bridges that change hearts and minds — and eventually our laws.”
National Coming Out Day is celebrated every Oct. 11 to mark the anniversary of the 1987 March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Equality.

I suppose the 2005 equivalent would be to take all the people talking on the handsfree cell phones and pair *them* up.
I got to see Lily Tomlin when she was traveling the country with her one woman show "In Search of Intelligent Life..." She made a big hit in New York, and after a long run there, she took the show on tour of major cities in the U.S.
It was a very funny show and also a very popular one.

I read somewhere that with the improvements in cell phone technology that telling the difference between crazy people and yuppies is becoming more and more difficult.

As another historical victory for same-sex couples in Spain, the courts have now ruled that there shall be widow pensions in a same-sex marriage just like there is in a heterosexual marriage. Way to go Spain!
3 months of same-sex marriages in Spain and Canada. Over 2 years for Belgium and over 4 years in the Netherlands...does your marriage feel less significant, and does the santicity of marriage have less meaning now?

Guerriero had just started his address, on the future of sexual politics, when a man rushed up to the stage and lobbed a cream pie at him.
The national spokesperson for gay Republicans swerved and ducked, but still was spattered with lumps of chocolate cream pie. Guerriero later attributed his nimbleness to having played soccer in school.
"I've had a lot of political rhetoric thrown at me, but that was the first pie," he said.
Guerriero removed his jacket and then picked up his speech where he left off, only to be interrupted again, this time by a fire alarm.
The building was evacuated. Guerriero finished up the speech on the front steps.
"Thankfully this person wasn't successful in stifling debate," Guerriero told 365Gay.com on Wednesday.
Who threw the pie or pulled the fire alarm is not known. Witnesses say that the man was wearing dark clothes and a baseball cap.
Log Cabin has come under fire from conservatives in the Republican Party for not endorsing President Bush in 2004 and for opposing an amendment to the US Constitution that would ban gay marriage. But, the group is equally controversial within the LGBT community with some seeing it as pandering to the GOP.
"We're at a boiling point in the culture war and people on the far right and the far left have very intense feelings," Guerriero said.

You would be suprised at others that PM us about their own or their friends situations....
and that is not a single number -- it seems that the presence of these type of topics and several of us OUT - gives other members and guests an avenue to discuss off line.
It is not just the 3 - if that was so- why would the views per post continue to increase from the 18.5 per to over 20.5 per post just in the last few days. ...
If you are so against this topic- suggest you just bugger off and dont read it--- otherwise - I would assume some interest on your part as well....

If you don't care, then why the heck did you choose to view this thread or read that post? The topic of this thread is pretty clear. If you don't "care" then don't view it just so you can make snide remarks and make yourself feel important.
Or are you one of those homosexuals in denial? Pay attention and care on the inside but bash gays so that nobody suspects anything...

I care. Pies were never meant to be used in anger. C'mon man! Didn't you read the article? It was chocolate cream! All that heavenly delicious chocolate cream with smooth topping and flakey crust wasted! And for what? Oh the humanity

(sorry - I get like this when I haven't had lunch)
Actually the Log Cabin Republicans can't win. The liberals think they're self-hating sell-outs - they've been called the"Uncle Tom's Cabin Republicans", and the conservatives think they've abandoned them. So it's not actually clear on who the pie-tosser was in this case.
