I can't believe they sent the best singer home. Just goes to show...it's fixed.

I voted about 250 times for Taylor as well.....

I had a feeling that tonight would be a shock....as soon as I saw them lined up in groups of two, because Kat had done so bad, I knew that she and Chris were the bottom two. But I didn't really think Chris would go tonight.....

Jaw-dropping.

Strange, most posts prior to today were about how this year was by far the best so far.

It's a popularity contest. One could argue that the best singers have never won.

It's completely shocking. Bummer! I liked Chris the best, by far, and thought he had the most flexibility. My guess is Simon's pissed as he also had the most marketability.

Hmm, wonder if I'll be into it as much now that he's gone.

Hey I said that on the previous page that they lost their marketability and now that the three are left the finale will be Katherine and Elliott not for their singing ability but for sex appeal. I hate to say it again but Taylor is going home eventhough he shouldn't. What a crappy year for Idol.

Did you vote for Chris? How many times? I don't think the show is fixed. The show sends home who you didn't vote for.

Been saying it from the start, Chris has a great voice, but the world doesn't need another bald rocker.

My Bad? I just watch, don't vote. Guess I shouldn't really care then, eh?

I'll take another bald rocker if he's that hot. Wouldn't want a bald chick rocker, though. wink.gif

I always really liked Elliot. I wish I'd put some money down on either Elliot or Taylor to win -- those odds must have been very long at the beginning....

I heard on the radio that it might be fixed because they already know that Chris's album will sell millions so if they promote someone lesser, then it guarantees them two top selling albums. Don't know but I do like to repeat gossip blush.gif

There was a cute song about Chris' elimination to the tune of you had a bad day...I'll see if I can find it somewhere and post it.

My husband found this chart on the internet. I guess Chris didn't lose by much....

It is the votes that count and most people just thought that Chris would win so they didn't vote for him.

He will get a contract so I would not worry to much about him. Kat needs to go.

I'm sure that's the reason. Confidence turned to apathy.

It probably also has a lot to do with the demographics of the viewing audience.

I bet the audience is quite skewed toward middle-age and up. A lot of grandmas are saying, "That Taylor is so doggone cute, and he sings my kind of music!" and picking up their phones.

The voting audience may not overlap very much with the people who will actually go out and buy albums... Was it Camay who said he called in 200 votes for Taylor?? Camay, do you buy albums??!

Yes, we voted. Pretty much throughout the whole evening. We had a feeling that Chris' audience was probably a smaller demographic because although he continued to be the best singer, he started ending up in the lower group rather regularly. Oh well, he has the best voice and the music he will sing will play to many in mainstream America, so I look forward to hearing him in the near future.

p.s. And let's be real....only Elvis can sing an Elvis song. What were they thinking.......?
