Aw, don't take it so hard. Don't you realize you're better than all the rest of them? Isn't that the true snob spirit?

Hey, some of us are just busy trying to keep up with the other threads! I think Paris Hilton is turning into a huge, open sore even as I type.....but back to the subject...
You might still have a tinge of snobby around the edges...but you mostly sound like a born-again non-snob to me! Welcome to the fray................

Oh please don't use that term "born-again" AUUGHH! I was born fine the first time!
BTW, I do think Folsom is very snobbish and yuppy and unfriendly for the most part. I've been here near 2 years and that's the impression I get. Oh wait, I'm reclusive and unfriendly and people in general piss me off, so it should't surprise you that I think this of our town

I didn't have that impression when I moved here, but I wonder if the flavor of the city has changed with development? If you move to my neighborhood...I'll talk to you and even share some plants...unless you don't mow your yard or hang a plastic swing from your ornamental pear...cuz then I'd have to snub you.

gosh...maybe I should remove the pink plastic flamingos from my lawn...lest I look too non-snobby! Bah! I paid good money for those at Dollar Tree!!!
I'm with you on this one...I think more development plays a part. I have lived in big cities and smaller ones like Folsom, and truthfully, the big cities are less friendly

Naaah. Last year, my friend was visiting from the Bay area and we walked to NSE together to pick up my kids. On the way home, numerous people waved and said hello and one mom stopped to give me a plate of Christmas cookies. My friend marveled, "Wow, people sure are friendly here!"
It's all a matter of perspective.

Jolene thinks I'm a snob because I won't go to any of the My Folsom gatherings............but I told her, I'm just too busy gossiping about my lower class neighbors and watching my minions polish my leased Jaguar (bmw's ???? Too nouveau riche for me!)!
What's snobby about that?

So, I take it that you would not be interested in purchasing some (gently) used pink flamingo lawn ornaments?

What is all this chitter chatter about BMWs and Jaguars? Are those some sort of economy car or golf cart?
Oh yes, I remember now. I think one of my servants drives something called a BMW. I always tell him not to park so close to my Bugatti...but he never listens.

We say, "Hi" to the people beneath our socioeconomic class as often as you say, "Hi" to the homeless.
Sweet Jesus! Winco? Hose? *shudder*
Ha, ha! That's exactly what I was thinking when people mentioned BMWs and Jaguars (crap mass manufactured cars for people that aspire to be rich).
If you don't own, "custom-made" products, we really don't travel in the same circles. And by "own" that means purchased without debt.
I always find it fascinating to listen to people say, the own X, just because they moved the debt to a home equity line of credit or refinanced. Laughable. They don't own anything, they just don't know it.
Attn: Non-Snobs!!! I feel that Mylo, gorilla, and perhaps several others may be in need of immediate intervention!!! We can use my house...and maybe someone could pick up a party tray from Winco on the way over? It's nice out today....we could do this outside and just take turns drinking from the hose.
Snobs....let us HELP you!! We can show you the way!!! We are Non-Snobs United!!!

How many of you have your personal assistant read myfolsom and post responses for you?
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.
