Candidates aren't even trying this year, and it's annoying since that puts the compliant ones at a disadvantage while others break the law.

Maybe that's why people hold to the old adage " Every successful politican is a dirty, low-down, good fer nuthing crimminal hiding behind a pedigreed business card"

Not that I agree or anything---But it is a kinda successfully humorous joke opener at work parties!!!!!!!!

Love the quote!!!!!

I would say that most candidates don't know where they can and cannot post signs. I see HUGE signs everywhere for just about everyone. Do people really think a HUGE sign on a street corner is going to buy any votes? Not that I condone killing more trees, but I'd like to read something from a candidate more than what is in the voter guide.

Please STOP BUYING AND POSTING signs. They are ugly, a distraction when you drive and highly ineffective. When is the last time someone told you, "Oh, I voted for him because I saw a big sign on the street corner?"

If anything, I'm NOT going to vote for these big sign people. I want to hear about the issues, not look at a 100 signs on every intersection. Spend the $$ sending out mail or updating your website on a regular basis. Get out to forums, write articles, make some calls, walk door to door! I'm tired of candidates, especially incumbents slapping up some signs and taking the election. What ever happened to good old campaigning?

Don't forget shaking babies and kissing hands! Most candidates do all of the above. Signs are just one piece and tend to be most effective for those who don't go to forums and read mailers, etc. You wouldn't see them if they didn't work.
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.
