JM,....I am the "Rep" that DJ is referring to that received the Visa card last week.
Before you go spouting off about what you know so little about, let me clarify.
I do NOT work for the company and I am not even in MyFreeTravel's system as a "rep".
I have access to these Grocery Certs through a local broker I know who DID
NOT receive his Visa card yet either. If they were deliberately playing favorites they would
have sent his before mine since he orders hundreds of Grocery Certs from the company
and IS listed with them.
I have not sold ANY orders through MyFreeTravel, other then my personal one. I am in
"wait and see" mode before deciding to move forward with them but I did sell some through the Arizona company (BBZ) which I unfortunately got burned in as well. I went out of pocket to replace my customers with these new ones as Beck's appears to have done (No, I did not sell the Beck's account).
Last week I was told that all of the Visa cards tied to the August receipts were sent out.
However, I became informed through my broker contact on Friday that only part of them wentout and that the rest should be received by Oct. 31. Frustrating...yes!!!!..I don't appreciatethe changing terms and conditions either... but I do not think that this a deliberate scam given the Exec who runs this appears to have a clean rep (I am not a Private Investigator nor do I spend my day scouring the 'net doing background checks either).
My best guess is that when MyFreeTravel attempted to takeover the business from the
last company that went under they underestimated what they were taking on. Just
looking at the vengeful people on this board alone multiplied across the entire US and
Canada and one can only imagine how their Customer Service lines are clogged
to the gills with people screaming, "Where's my Visa" and "I'm going to the BBB" etc.
Bottom line is I too am disappointed with how they are handling things but they need
to be given ample opportunity to deliver and, hopefully, get back on track. Those
"replacement" certificates that you and the others got from Beck's were sold at a steep
discount so that brokers and reps, like me could somewhat afford to make ammends with their customers by giving them out. I am sure MyFreeTravel is losing their backside on
the replacement stuff on top of the cost of having to be tied up with answering BBB
claims. I understand most of those were from people "bitching" about having to send a copy
of their driver's license. I am sure they were not expecting THAT!!!!...Once those complaints came rolling in they HAVE to answer them or risk their rating going in the commode. They apparently vastly underestimated the sniveling crybabies that are taking vengence out on them for the problem that was created by another company. Just because someone "female dog" slaps you (calm down, it's just a metaphor for what BBZ did to all of us) doesn't give you the right to sucker punch the guy (or gal) standing next to you who tried to help but did a less then adequate job of it.
I am more then happy to share what I know about what is going on but my info probably won't be dramatically better then what all you guys who are calling in every day are getting but I am willing to help where I can. I have a contact in Cust. Service who seems to be
somewhat know what is going on and I will be calling him tomorrow am for an update.
If I hear anything substantive I will report back. Everybody take a deep breath and go
watch the MLB Playoffs and stop obsessing over these little Visa cards.
