I wonder how far back in the paper the Telegraph will report this.

Don't know about the Telegraph but the story appeared in the Metro section of the Bee this morning. Looks like it's finally over with the school district and the boosters prevailing. Thankfully, Ms. Kinsella says she can't afford to appeal.

I think Ms. Kinsella made a huge mistake in suing the school district. The question is why? Couldn't have this been handled on a personal level, with a meeting of all parties concerned? I can't help but feel there was an underlying agenda...was it money, or what? Lawyers usually won't take on a case unless they th ink they can win - perhaps she was misguided by an attorney who promised her the moon - who knows...

I just think it was wrong to burden our school district with a frivilous lawsuit when there is not enough money for basic supplies in some of our classes. Schools need to be educating and teaching...not spending their resources on things such as this....

The whole thing has gotta be about $$$$

A lot of times when someone sues, it is because they feel like they've been "dissed." It's more about the emotion than the money.

I wonder if she tried to address it with the School Board, and felt like they just blew her off? Or did she get into some kind of spat with the music director?

While I'm glad the school district won, they may need to examine how they handled the issue from the beginning -- could they have defused it before it became a huge lawsuit?

Then again, maybe she is just a very unreasonable lady. Some people are.

I think you are right on. From what I understand, Kinsella did try addressing it with the boosters and school board but did not like the response and became very unreasonable. From there on it seemed to become somewhat of an obsession or vendetta and there was no appeasing her.

Well I stand corrected. The Telegraph did print the article, and also on the front page. What wasn't surprising is that they spun the news that they didn't know why the ruling was reversed. It was reversed, because right is right, and wrong is wrong. This woman is a lunatic, and anything that she can do to take away from our kids and schools, she will do.

It's no wonder that the Boosters refused to respond to the Telegraph, as I am sure they would spin whatever the boosters said to hurt the music programs, and other school activities that our kids need and love so much.

This win feels good, and it should!

Took too long, but it finally made its way in front of an intelligent, reasonable judge. The decision in small claims was unreasoned, and frankly, appalling. Anyway, it's fixed now, and the boosters can now focus on what they do best -- supporting Folsom's nationally reknowned music program!!
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.
