I would have to say the Pick Up Stix has the best chinese food I have ever had.

Panda Express is disgusting. I gave it a second chance because I thought I went on a bad day. The second time was worse than the first. The food was dried out and flavorless.

I still miss China Express in Fremont, their food was awesome..the prices were too.

Thai Siam is good, but their portions run on the smaller side. Amarin is pretty good, and when I'm in Roseville I eat at Taste of Thai. There's a small place in Sac. on J Street and 33rd (don't remember what it's called, but their food was good too).

Thai Basil and it's awesome.

You need to try more Chinese places. Pick Up Stix is simply OK.

You're probably right. Do you have any recommendations? When it comes to Chinese food, I'm so leary about trying anything new. There's a place here in Cameron Park everyone raved about, I tried it and it was awful. I've been to Fat City many times and the food is good, but it's always too crowded and too expensive. If you have any tried and true Chinese food places, let me know! I always like to try something new. Thanks! smile.gif

Golden Lake in the WalMart shopping center is pretty good.

Asian Bistro in the Francisco shopping plaza in EDH is good.

China House is gross.

Jennie's is OK..I ate there just once.

Fat's is yummy but not authentic Chinese.

Best one I've eaten at in Sacramento is Eastern Empire on Howe.

Golden Lake in the Walmart center has a fantastic lunch. Either arrive early or late though because they are packed. Also plan on bringing half of it home. The plates are huge.

My wife and I have had two good experiences with Sunny Garden - it's in the new Raley's center near Natoma and Blue Ravine.

Wow.

We tried Golden Lake only once, but our experience was so bad, it would have definitely been my entry for the Worst Chinese place to eat. But since we went only once, I won't make it an official nomination.

Same goes for Sol Azteca and Mexican. One time -- food & service were too bad to ever try again.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant right now (though it offers more than that) is Sunny Garden. It's still a bit hit or miss, but we've had many more hits than misses recently, so we like it quite a lot.

My two faves are on Broadway in Sac; Fortune House has better decor and atmospher, and great food. New Station has great seafood, but not much atmosphere.

In Folsom, Sunny Garden, or Pho Bac Hoa Viet. They serve Vietnamese AND Chinese food. My daughter loves their beef chow fun.

In Folsom, we enjoyed the food at Lieu Chinese Restaurant - it's on Blue Ravine near Natoma Station (in the Starbucks shopping center area). Good variety, fresh ingredients and most importantly -- lots of chinese people eating there. Although we have found the service to not be sometimes as fast as we think it should be (staffing levels at times seemed low considering a packed house), the food makes up for it.

I second this post. I haven't found that many Chinese places that I really like, though Steve's got it right in that the best I've had are on Broadway.

If you have a bunch of people that are open to new food, and will try anything at least once, then New Hong Kong Wok on Freeport in Sac by Land Park is the only place we've found in the Sac area that has food that tastes like what we ate in China.

Cam Ranh Cafe by Goldminers is new and good (also cheap).

The reason why I absolutely hated the Kabob House was the Gyros had a bland taste. They were thew worst Gyros I ever had until I had the Gyros from across the Intel which was even worst.

THE best Gyros in sacramento (By Far) is the Greek Village Inn on Howe and fair Oaks. A bit pricey, but well worth it.
