Yes it is interesting Cal that they are proposing it as a senior center and then have it on the agenda too late for you to be there
My suggestion is to email your cc members and give them your opinion
I will obtain and provide that information shortly

Anyone can obtain the Agenda of the up coming city council meetings BY E-MAIL
by calling the City Clerk's office at 355-7270 and having your name and e-mail address added to their list.

Go to the following web site:

http://www.folsom.ca...dex.asp?page=34

Click on City Council Meeting Agenda: It will give you the agenda for the next city council meeting.

When you people can't find something legitimate to complain about you start making up stuff. It's time to put this discussion of making the "poor veterans" wait till past their bedtime before their issue is heard to rest.

Like most public meetings, Council meetings are governed by law. Most of them are required to follow Robert's Rules of Order and the order of the meeting items is not optional. Under Robert's Rules of Order, NEW BUSINESS comes last (except for Council comments). This Tuesday and the last time you complained about this, both of the items you were interested in were NEW BUSINESS. If the council had moved your items out of order, to take them earlier in the evening, even if it were legal, would that have been fair to the others who were waiting for their items to be heard who then got pushed to later? The veterans and the Lions aren't the only old people in town who want to go home and go to sleep. Why are you so important that the Council should unfairly, if not actually illegally, manipulate its "established order of business" to give you guys favoritism at the expense of others?

You can look this up, by the way, in a place called "the library."

waterbaby-----For your information, up until this library site issue came up, I, for one, did not know the name of the street along side of the park next to the Community Center, much less how to spell it.

Most of the long time residents know it but many of the newer residents, like me, have had to learn the older, as well as newer, street names and places.

It helps to clarify statements.

annierose, I hope that you and some of these other people never get old !!!

You won't need to worry about late meetings. It doesn't bother me as I can still
get out and about very well. I am thinking of other older people when I speak.

Natoma Street is too small and narrow for any amount of traffic. I used to hand pay my utility bills at City Hall until the area became too congested. I recently conducted business at the Hoffman and Hoffman Law Offices on the corner of Natoma and Wales, and the traffic was miserable. I received service at Union 76 on Natoma, and was amazed at the congestion.

Oh great now we are building a library right smack in the heart of City Hall area with little tiny streets and tons of traffic. Way to go!!!

I have been quiet over the last week or so in hopes that this website would be graced with some "straight thinking" thoughts. Whooray, it finally came from Farley!!! First, Farley I apologize to have suggested that perhaps you and stevethedad were "hooked up." It is comforting to know that you support a different location for the library. For that, thank you and please attend our growing meetings every Friday night at the Veterans Hall.

To annierose, who is "you people"? If you are referring to the Lions, Veterans, and or our supporters, we will be pleased to give you names so that you don't confuse us with the disgruntled crowd when you refer to "you people."

To Candy Apple. I am pleased to see that your typing fingers are still working. Please know that in spite of your position on the library siting, the Lions and the Veterans have absolute respect for your community involvement and if we can ever assist you in any way, you need only ask.

Thank you Grandpa Babe and I join you in inviting any one who would like to attend the recall meetings, sign the recall petition or obtain petitions to circulate to contact the VFW Hall

The meetings are at 7:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall at the end of Forrest

Thank you Candy.... for your apology
and I would extend that invitation to you and Annirose
We will not fight with you at the meeting, nor will we permit tape recorders but we will discuss our views with you - I trust that you will be surprised at the range of people involved in this recall.

As I indicated previously - if you are unable to attend the meeting of the cc on Tuesday night with regard to the changes to Station house 35
please email our cc with your opinions on this subject - also feel free to write to the the Folsom Telegraph

for Miklos it is- themayor@folsom.ca.us
for King it is - eric@ericking.org
for Morin it is - andy@themorins.com
and last but not .....
Starsky - jstarsky@folsom.ca.us

make your voice heard - you have this opportunity

Also Farley - thank you for your words on trafic - I live on Wales behind the BLM and believe me the traffic is so bad at times I have to go down Wales to Glenn to Folsom Blvd. back to Folsom-Auburn Blvd.
a former 5 minute trip is now 15 or more minutes in the am and evening
and when I pick kids up from the jr. high - it can be 45 minutes over the bridge and back
the traffic situation has to be worked on and that doesn't mean adding to it!!!
look at these cc spending a 1/4 of a million on lobbying for the Folsom Dam, excessive funds on the library for the plans and enviromental - and there is no resolution - because they say so - I don't like the spend spend spend

Are we to the point that no one reads this site any longer???? If so let us start a new posting!!! The recall is in full swing!!! We are two thirds of the way toward having the required signatures and we have not actively manned the 30 or so commercial sites that have given us permission to collect signatures. To the four vulnerable CC members, we wish things could be different. We have offered you every opportunity to do this thing differently, but not a single one of you have offered to discuss a compromise!!! Consequently, the members of the Lions and the "decorated" veterans will continue on our current path to see you removed. Best wishes.

grandpa babe,

You are not talking for all the decorated veterans in Folsom.
I, for one, do not back the recall.

Didn't the city just get through telling the firefighters they did't have money to pay them average. I guess the $8.4 Million that it will cost to build this great monument is a drop in the bucket to the financially strapped city. Does the city council know what their doing over there. Please get Miklos and Starsky out of there.
