I try very hard to do the right thing. In determining the "right" thing, I take into account how my actions affect others, how they affect the common good and what's safe for me and my family. On Iron Point, I go 45. If people don't like it, they can go around me. I'm not going to purposefully position myself next to another who's going 45 to hold those behind me to the speed limit, but if I need to take a left turn, I stay in the left turn lane so I can make the turn. Otherwise, I move to the right. I think about the cyclists (yes, I like to ride a bike), pedestrian safety (what I personally work to champion) and how these things, along obeying the law teaches my kids a good lesson.
So, yeah, I try to apply these thoughts to every law. I think Americans (in general, perhaps bad to over-generalize) are selfish, uncaring people who have stopped looking out for the common good. Just trying to buck the trend.
I can appreciate that.
Every time I want to make a left from Black Diamond onto Iron Point on my Motorcycle I have to wait until I THINK it is clear, close my eyes, floor it, and pray no one hits me! (I do not really close my eyes!) but it is hard to turn left on that street unless you are at a light! It is a big blind corner.
I think they should make everything RIGHT TURN ONLY except at a light. (Ingersoll has a light!)
