Here's another cent to add to the 2 already given. If Folsom can afford to have a armored personal carrier and a mobile command center maybe a slug gun (shoots a wooden slug) or a bean bag gun (both non fatal tools) should be available for ready use.

I saw the command post van and its something LA would be proud of so we are ready when the big one hits. I have not seen the armored car. It would be fun to have the car depolyed to see the look an stop sign busters when they are run down by the old armored car with lights a flashin.

so little bad happens in folsom they might send police swaps with the sac pd into some of the gang/bad guy areas to give more experience in dealing with bad people

in the service we found troops had to be exposed to the world of combat before they became seasoned, and that was the same for experienced units with replacement troops

that bean bag idea is good, saw a cops film were one was used and it put the guy down.

FYI...Sac Bee has an article on Sacbee.com in regards to this on the web site. The article clearly articulates what the officers had to deal with when they entered the residence. I feel sorry for the victim and their family. However, the victim put the officers in a very difficult situation. The officers had no choice, because they also must go home to their loved ones each night. The victim put their lives in jeopardy.
Thank you Folsom PD for keeping our streets safe.

I just read the report and I am thankful we have competent law enforcement to protect us! I have a friend and family in law enforcement and they have my utmost respect for putting their lives on the line every time they go to work. Next time you see an officer tell them thank you because they don't hear that a lot!!!

Thanks for the link to the article.

Wow, 4 adults, a couch & a bed in a cluttered 9' X 9' room.

Pretty cramped conditions. Basically as soon as the officers entered, their backs were against a wall. Not a good place to be if someone is charging at you with a knife.

And the family was not there to see any of it so their criticism is not from a factual perspective.

So then you just have to believe the all factual reports from the cops who were there right? As if they would never lie or mis-report anything? Way to slam the family jacka$$.

Crap. I've been so busy I haven't looked at the forum in a a week and a half or so. I would have liked to respond to Drooler's comments, but it seems as though he's taken care of himself.

Too bad a bad situation gets worse as a result of people like this. Then again as the old saying goes, the more people I know, the more I appreciate my dog!

I doubt you would have liked his final posts (which have all been removed thankfully).

You're right. All of them got ready for work that day thinking, "yeah today is the day I get to kill a person."

Do you seriously just argue for the sake of arguing or what?

This is not slamming the FPD. But the other comment WAS slamming the family, don't forget, they lost a loved one, and all they did was call for help. It's fine if you want to say the police all deserve some kind of metal for keeping our streets safe that Easter morning, but don't insinuate the family did anything wrong.
