You are all validating my point.Just look at some of the posts, the place has been open less than a week and people have eaten there 2 or 3 times. And i agree with you most of the juice places serve crap! People lets teach our kids how to eat right!

Puhleez, a couple burgers a month does not make a person fat, lack of excercise is what does it . Besides, I don't like tofu and celery, gimme meat and potatos, real mans food.

I hate tofu and celery. And love meat and potatoes. But everything in moderation. Unfortunately, typical america does not work that way. Just look at the stats. I agree, couple times of month may not hurt you but I am talking about the people who eat fast food 2/3 times a week. And also give to their kids.

[/b] Are you serious? Go to the store and cook something healthy! This is my whole point. People rather go to taco bell/mcD instead of cooking. grrrrrrrr sad.gif

Are you dense? Obviously I am not speaking for myself. Read my whole post. I don't even eat TB or McD's.

At least you know that you'll raise your kids right.

I went to In-N-Out in Folsom yesterday and was happy to finally have one in town. My kids used to drive to the Sunrise area to get In-N-Out - at least now, they can drive down the street. Safer and saves on gas. I'm also glad that Folsom finally has a drive-thru Starbucks!! Yea!!

I don't know what all the fuss is about eating healthy vs. eating out. To each his own. We have found that you can't beat home cooked meals when it comes to taste but if you just had a 10 hour day at work and you're too tired to cook anything, In-N-Out is better than most. =)

If you burn calories, you can eat a lot without gaining weight.
Micheal Phelps often munched on more than 8,000 calories a day and still didn't get fat.

I love how we have one thread about how kids are too busy and another about how they sit around all the time with their Game Boys.

Great rebuttal! I order a cheeseburger ketchup and lettuce only. The burgers are only 70 calories less if you forgo the bun, but that is what helps make In N Out's burger different from the others. I love the fries, but I will only eat them when I eat with others so I don't eat a whole serving or waste the food! When I had different eating habits I could easily each the cheeseburger and fries along with a refill of diet coke. Now the cb pretty much fills me up. I think INO is a healthier alternative to fast food, but I don't think anyone here would say it is healthier than cooking a dinner at home. (Unless its mac and cheese or that type of meal and then INO isn't any different.)

You can also just order a single hamburger, skip the special sauce and use mustard instead. You can get water, tea or diet soda and either skip the fries or share one order of fries with your group.
That would cut the calories way, way down. You could even order extra tomato for the burger to make it slightly healthier.
You can eat there without consuming anyway near 1700 calories and 60 grams of fat in one meal.

A single hamburger with ketchup and mustard instead of sauce is 310 calories and 10 grams of fat. You can drink water, iced tea, coffee, light lemonade or diet coke for zero to about 10 calories. Half an order of fries would add 200 calories and 9 grams of fat.
Less than 600 calories and less than 20 grams of fat even if you go for half the fries.
Skip the fries completely and and it's pretty healthy.

You could even do "protein style" lettuce wrap instead of the buns to cut even more calories and eat it every day without gaining weight.

Yeah, because I feed my kids fast food for every meal. rolleyes.gif

A few junk food meals a month do not make obese kids. I bet juice consumption is a bigger problem than In-n-Out. Also, if you're gonna pick fast food, this is the best.

You worry about your kids and we'll worry about the health of ours! I have more of a problem with the parents who feed their kids fruit snacks, chips, and hostess products for lunch than a trip to In N Out. Heck...the kid would be eating healthier at INO! Kid already has a weight problem. sad.gif

DUDE! It is expensive to eat healthy!!! Look at the price of a bag of chips and the same weight of apples, bananas, etc. The fruit is going to cost more. Heck...Fuji apples can cost $2 per pound. Sometimes that means only two apples! I would stop lecturing people about how to eat unless you know each of us and live in an unhealthy manner. I know that when I "indulge" in something not healthy I really try to make it up in the next days meals and food choices. Keep your parenting "helps" to yourself unless we ASK!

That statement is so ludicrous, it ain't funny. first, don't compare apples to potatos.

So take your bag of potato chips, figure out how many potatoes you think you got, then go price a bag of potatoes. If you want to go buy weight, then stay away from comparing dried food with food that still has it's moisture, go price a bag of frozen potatoes (hash browns, french fries, or whatever) and compare that price per pound with 5 or 10 lb bag of potatoes. pound for pound, almost any fresh fruit product will be a bargain compared to some equivalent bag or box of processed food.

Healthy eating is actually cheap & easy if you want it to be.
I would rather be Backpacking

You are really embarrassing yourself. What you are saying is that you are going to eat junk food cause you cant afford healthy food? wth? If you buy a burger, fries and coke at In/out you will spend around $ 5-5.50. You could EASILY feed yourself for less if you cooked yourself. And to be honest I dont care about you! Its all about what we are feeding the kids. END OF STORY.
