Say buh-bye to Hard Rock Sacramento...Damn, K Street is gonna look like a friggin ghost town...

http://www.kcra.com/...032/detail.html

I am not surprised. Isn't the Hard Rock fad over? I never really got the attraction. Yes, I visited them in various towns; LA, New Orleans, Vegas, SF, etc., but just didn't see the big deal. I remember being in Tokyo with a group of about 8 people back in the late 90's. It was me, our host, and 6 women.

Our host and I wanted to go to Shinjuku to eat and party and enjoy the Tokyo experience. The girls wanted to go to Hard Rock and enjoy the American experience. We had to stick together, so were forced to go to the Hard Rock.

We could have been in LA, New Orleans, Vegas or SF. It didn't matter. They are all the same.

That was my last visit to a Hard Rock.

Dang that was a good Mexican restaurant though we haven't supported it in quite some time being over on the opposite side of community;

Lolitas appears to have found some funding to keep things going. So all of you that claim to support small businesses over chains, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is.

It was amazing to see how crowded they were this weekend when everyone wanted a last meal before closing. That is the kind of support they need on a regular basis.

Never been, but we'll give it a try. I'm a vegan but husband and friend are not.

Hilltop Gas and Market on corner of Francisco & Green Valley in EDH has closed shop.

Surprised they lasted this long once Safeway had its major gas discounts and the store once it changed owners became run down and disorganized.

St Pauli was definitely good but Old Europe on Sutter St. is pretty good and authentic too.

We like the enchiladas, quesadillas and tostadas. My husband likes the fajitas too. I don't much care for the main salsa they offer, but if you ask them for their chunky tomato salsa- I really like that- you can get flour chips instead of corn too (but I've never tried them). Their rice is good also- as well as their refried or black bean options.

They're very similar to the La Placita restaurants on Greenback, if you've ever been there.

For Vegan: Best is the veggie burrito, ask for pinto or black beans instead of refried.

For the carnivores: Carnitas, chili colorado, huevos, and seafood are popular/good.

At most places... the veggie burritos DO NOT comply with a vegan lifestyle. FYI

I have a Vegan friend, she grilled them on how they prepare and what goes in, and was satisfied it met the requirements.

At most places, like I stated before, veggie burritos do not comply with a vegan lifestyle. Maybe your friend is a little more relaxed on her approach to this. Most veggie burritos have sour cream in them which is not vegan, and I'm pretty positive that most places do not have vegan tortillas. Thats all I'm saying. Vegetarian yes.

Holy moly! What's in a tortilla that would make it not vegan? Lard? Finding vegetarian food seems hard enough, being vegan seems like self-inflicted punishment.

Baconaise is vegetarian.

It's also certified Kosher!
