Let's see, President Obama took over from "W" and got a DOW at about 7000 and unemployment at over 10%,  When he left office for "Orange", the DOW was at about 19,000 and unemployment was below 5%.  If Trump does half that well it will be a miracle.  BTW, President Obama also inherited a $1 TRILLION war debt that Bush left behind.  Yeah, you neocons have done just great!

Unemployment numbers are bogus no matter who is in charge. Unless you use the U6 number (which is NOT flattering to Obama) the number is worthless.  Inherited a "war debt?" Yeah, GW grew the debt by 4.2 trillion dollars over 8 years.  Not to be outdone, Obama racked up another 8 TRILLION dollars in his 8 years.

Obama also put more people on food stamps, had the worst economic recovery in 70 years and had more people leave the workforce (hence the skewed U2 numbers).  But I'm sure you'll figure out a way to make that Bush or Trump's fault... <eyeroll>

In the second, a former Mexican official offered the quick analysis.  “He’s the opposite of Teddy Roosevelt,” that official quipped to Guajardo about Trump. “He speaks loudly and carries a small stick.”

You are correct regarding the economy.  It's very clear that markets are completely ignoring the circus in Washington.  This is good news because investors are now making decisions based of corporate fundamentals, which they should be doing anyway.  And corporate fundamentals are extremely strong right now.  

 

And think about this - The markets have been gaining strength since 2009, but Trump is trying to take credit for it. And he thinks if he proclaims his magic over markets during a trip to West Virginia (the armpit of the nation), people will actually buy his BS.  In W VA, they probably will buy it because they can barely spell "investor".  From what you hear, all their money goes to the local meth dealer.

Well, you obviously did not watch the rally in West Virginia last night did you....?   If you did you might have second thoughts on that idea.   And no, no growth under Obama, just moved sideways for eight years.   And don't blame Bush, blame Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton, the CRA, and Bill getting rid of Glass-Steagall, or did you forget about all that stuff or maybe never learned of it....?   Actually dems were to blame for all that, giving loans and houses to people with no skin in the game and basing it on perceived racism.   Hey, no 20% down, no house for you....!    That is what works, skin in the game, you can't play the game of home ownership.   Free stuff does not work, just look at your own parties history, the democratic party,= and what it has done to America since FDR.  You screw up everything you do, big time, and big time debt and promissory notes....  Sad thing is that the Republicans know how to fix it but they can never agree on anything and squander their rare chances at change.   Chris

Yeah, West Virginia is the center of the Trump world.  Trump is gonna bring coal jobs back!  Except, there is no market for coal any more.  It's a filthy resource that we shouldn't be mining and there won't be any real resurgence in coal use.  BTW, West Virginia is rated as the most miserable state in the union.  There is a reason for that. All you neocons should move to West Virginia and get happy.  Maybe you can make the place less miserable.
